Too many of these out to distinguish the worthy from the less since Pergo developed this type of floors decades back.
Look at the surface material & the core. If they're wood based & not High-Pressure Laminate on resin or vinyl core, they cannot be subjected to moisture. Absorption will lead to dimensional changes, peaking, cupping, even delamination.
However, the click-lock float floor has evolved into many different types for varied applications...even waterproof ones are out.

I think safe naman mag mop, just make sure hindi sobrang basa yung mop. Pigain muna bago magmop.

    we did that.
but by the time we needed them, many years later,
we could not find them anymore!

May renovation 9yrs ago, pero hindi ginalaw mga sanitary pipes, but replaced all the GI water pipes to Unitec pipes (yung plastic with aluminum).
We used similar fused plastic pipes for our water line as we've designed them as pressured water lines (with pressure tank and then Maynilad later came in).... No leak so far..... Hopefully, for a long time...

As for the T&Bs,- we've laid them out as one on top of another and on one side of the house, as much as possible,- with one on an overhang...

Yup avoid water, this is what happened when my son spilled water on their room floor & didn’t tell us about it. Use a damp cloth/rag & wipe it with dry.

Kaya nga sa amin bro,- ingat kami na huwag mabasa... And we use [furniture] footies for chairs, tables, beds etc.... Or, carpets as applicable.

And we regularly wipe the laminate-floor with pledge to maintain the natural topcoat/luster...

So far after more than 15 years, parang bago pa rin....

This is how most laminate floors in the market are constructed....Obviously no match against water.
This is what most would want...waterproof Luxury Vinyl Floors/Planks(LVP). The core is either StonePlasticComposite or WoodPlasticComposite...both waterproof.

I think vinyl for the gym for better hygiene. Hospitals use vinyl for the same reason.

Vinyl...steer clear of obvious water damage risk...you won't want sweat absorption on your gym floor & turn it into some culture lab, sir.

Always thought that tiles were more hygienic before because of the sleek, shiny finish and being easier to clean. But apparently vinyl has antimicrobial properties. Antistatic too, so it protects expensive hospital equipment.

Yes, they're required to use the weldable vinyl in rolls for hygiene. Wall to floor jointline is curved to avoid dirt deposits. It's non-absorbent, impact resistant yet softer than ceramic tiles....which will have too many joints/grout lines.

Oh, so it's the joints that are unhygienic for tiles. Makes sense. I just wonder about the durability of vinyl long term. They don't seem to be that abrasion resistant. But probably not an issue indoors.

There are some tiles (& grout as well) that are antibacterial too, but majority hindi.
