I received the quote from our contractor. 15% of materials + labor pala ang fee ng contractor.
It's P48k+ for my dog's area and it does not include the grills yet Polycarbonate roof yung transparent roofing diba? My fat lab finds it mainit. Is that the cheapest roofing? Materials 21k and labor 17k. I wish I could just teach my fat lab to only eat what is given to her.

Thats an expensive quote, polycarbonate roofing is expensive and quite pointless for a dog house. You should just use a plywood roof. I recommend you go around home depots and check for the prices of the major items, you can cross check with the prices listed in the quotation. The contractors charge of 15% is quite low by typical industry standards (usual is 20-30% for materials and labor) but then he is probably going to make it up with expensive materials.
If you find cheaper materials, try to forge a deal wherein owner supplied materials are used but his mark up is increased, it will probably turn out cheaper.

He is a family friend baka kaya he charged low. Before he did not give an amount for his fee and he provided us a photocopy of all the receipts for the materials. My Mom just gave 10% of labor and materials (without knowing the industry rate). But this time it is good he gave an amount
Luging lugi pala siya samin dati
Plywood roof? Pano pag naulanan? I think he used polycarbonate to match the current roof. Polycarbonate is the transparent roof diba? He will also add wood trellis, parang technically is extend niya roof namin. The grills will be added to keep my dog in that area lang. But I said polycarbonate is hot during mid day so an option would be ordinary roof plus insulation.

It's as big as one car? I would think 48k is a good price already a fair deal. Polycarbonate roofing is already 900-1200 per square, if its as big as car so prolly 5.5Mx2.5M is 13.75sqm so that would translate to about 12-15k just for the roofing. You will struggle to get a better deal without lowering the spec of the materials.
Polycarbonate is a translucent roof. That I believe is the material of the canopy in Serendra. It is available in different colors and levels of translucency. If another Glenda or Millenyo comes, expect it to magically disappear. I wouldn't know if its comfortable for a dog because I'm not a dog.

Thanks! This is really helpful. I thought I would spend around 20k for this lang
My fat lab does not like polycarbonate because it gets really hot during mid day. Maybe I will ask him to get a darker shade or ordinary roof depending on the cost.
Hindi naman nilipad yung polycarbonate roof namin during Glenda. I guess he designed it really well. Nakatulong siguro yung trellis?
