I have a friend who wanted to take Bachelor of Music in UST and they forced him to change his application.

Its part of their contract that they have to take a STEM course whether they avail of a scholarship elsewhere or not.

Pisay is a bit more lenient though in that you can shift-out of a STEM course. Example of an alumnus is the writer Jessica Zafra. I remember a few years back when PSHS and DOST threatened to call on the debts of its alumni who were not in STEM-related fields. Hindi naman tinuloy. In contrast DOST scholarships are very strict. I have this old friend who retired years ago and yet his name keeps popping up on the BI no-fly blacklist at NAIA despite having already served as a USEC of DOST.
