You can't control how people think or act around you, but you can always control your response.

The most admirable people I know just shrug off petty things like this. They don't derive their own self-worth from what others think.

Again, a lion does not lose sleep over the opinion of sheep.

My parents are very low key people and mingle with people regardless of their financial status BUT as much as I hate to admit it, they're bigoted when it comes to foreigners specially from the middle east, southern asia, and africa.

Just because they think foreigners couldn't understand what they're saying, they comment on their smell, skin color, etc. right in front of them.
Damn, son! Where'd you find this?

    That's about it.

When I deal with other people, I treat them the way I want to be treated. That's been my motto since I can remember.

    Yep I also agree...

That's why I hate people that always brag on they know someone or a relative of someone... Or worse is being someone.

It's just not right... Manners always matter. Well that's how I see it.

People who discriminate are usually the people who never left their backyard. People who been around different places usually understand diversity.

naalala ko yung prank show nila boy2 quizon.

a person's wealth cannot be measured by the way he looks, or by the way he acts or speaks.
it can be measured by net worth. (assets - liabilities)

tignan nyo si binay.... mukha bang mayaman? assuming hindi sya VP and naka shorts and ordinary round neck shirt sya.... mapapagkamalan nyo ba syang VIP?

Yung taong grasa prank, imho over the top na yun, you're intentionally baiting people na.

Hindi ko naman nilalahat, pero imho yung mga mayamang mayabang make the worst customers; andaming angal, arte, minsan binibitin pa ang pagbayad(ask yourself, how did they get rich? Baka dahil sa panggugulang). Yung low profile na mayaman, no fuss no muss, bayad agad ^_^. i think this extends to business as well, usually yung mga maliliit takot sa supplier/landlord kaya bayad agad...other big companies/clients know they need them, kaya binibitin ang bayad and stuff.

Naikwento lang dati sa akin, from an insurance company: VIP client pero simple magdamit, patiently waited his turn to pay...by swiping his credit card to pay for the 7-figure premium. Grabe, stealth mode!

The topic is about discrimination, yet some posts here separate the old rich and the new ones...parang walang karapatan yung bagong rich bumili ng supercars at branded na gamit..

Mas likeable siempre yung mabait, pero di mo rin pwede alisin yung achievement and admiration that goes with it sa equation..

Simply put... Mayabang makes the worst customer and they also makes the worst sales person.

    Really.

    BTT:

On a personal level, wala na akong pakialam if those store people "profile" or discriminate me. At the end of the day, how they treat me will reflect on their daily sales sheets. If they treat me like a turd ........ labas ........ hanap iba! No use in boiling over and saying what's over my head, STRESS lang yun. No use making patol sa mga ganun na tao, because day in, day out, ganun na sila.

After all, they need me MORE (as the customer), than I need them.

    Re:

    On dressing.

I dress comfortably when I'm not in the office. Shorts, clean shirt, crocs or topsiders. I don't power dress when going to the mall, or grocery, or the local handyman joint, or the auto dealer (if its a weekend).

    Katarantaduhan na yun.

At clubs and restaurants the humble big tipper is more respected than a cheap and tight person who looks rich and drive expensive car.

    class discrimination:

I see it everyday dito sa building namin.
