The no noise trick here is to release the pedal w/o it abrubtly leaving the shoe sole.[emoji4]

I went to Handyman again to inquire about the vinyl floor mats. They don't have pics of these mats when placed on the M3 floors. I'd like to see how it looks in your M3, please

    Sorry!

Wait, let me go to the parking lot to take a picture of the mats! I couldn't do it at home because of poor lighting [emoji16]

I'm experiencing the second video in my 1-month old M3R but not the hissing sound in the first video. Let us know how it goes with your trip to the casa.

Is this better than rubber mats?

The hissing sound really bothers me. Did some internet search at some mazda forums, some claimed that it could be due to a defective brake vacuum booster.

I have a planned road trip to Baguio this summer. I really want to resolve these issues as an ordinary nuisance and nothing serious before the trip.

Sounds like normal pedal hinge operation. Try using your heel as pivot between brake pedal & gas.

When it comes to aesthetics yes imho, but the PVC/rubber bucket-type mats are better with trapping dirt and water spillage.

The sound is really obvious even when compared to my old M3 and with another non-mazda car. There's a slight hiss and tump sound but not really that obvious compared to the M3. Even my wife noticed this sound, and it's a non-issue when I'm using the other cars.

Brake systems may be different as current 3s now come w/ both ABS & Traction Control. Defective booster symptoms would usually be a combo of hiss, stiff pedal & lack of bite. Still best to have it checked. Otherwise, it could just be a case of our cars having practically no sound deadening at all. You get to hear everything...even the slightest sound of hydraulic function.[emoji4]

Haha! But so far I find the sound deadening of the 2017 M3 quite good, at least it's way better than the old 2003 Accord I used to drive (which is already better than the 1st gen M3).

    I totally agree.

It would have been visually better if I didn't opt for the studs underneath... it created an unintentional design on the surface. If hubby allows, I would get a new one without the studs [emoji16]

I still prefer the vinyl ones even if the rubber ones are functionally better [emoji4]

Hi, Mr. P [emoji4] long time.

If I recall the exact price right, it's 1,199.75... no plasticky smell. Maybe when they were new..? But I wipe Microtex SunShield on them, so they smell really clean whenever I enter the car.
