    Hi Guys,

I noticed that there's no thread available for the new 2017 Mazda 3 so I'm starting this. I drove one earlier as a test drive and the handling is just maaaaaaaaggggnnniiiffffficccceeent! Plus it has added sports mode, back-up camera, G-vector, among the others compared to the model year before.

Thinking if getting this (M3 1.5L Sedan) rather than the Civic 1.8E because after testing I just fell in love with handling, Skyactive + Youjin 3... But.. Worried about resale value.

    Any thoughts?

Knowing what's out there, & having decided on my 1st Mazda back in mid '14...if I were looking for a car today, I'd grab the Facelift w/o blinking. I understand people who frequently switch cars to worry about resale. I enjoy, keep most of mine long term, do my own maintenance....so, I never consider resale value that big a factor. I rely more on gut feel. It hasn't failed me, so far.
My Mown3rship has been such a positive, hitch-free experience that when the need & opportunity came for another car....we grabbed another Skyactiv.

I tried the 1.5L V Sedan. Pretty underpowered during my test drive just to find out that its only 111HP with 144nm torque. I must say the speed was a bit disappointing as I had a hard time over taking an old Toyota Altis (like 2005 levels).

    Yours is a 2.0 sir?

Mine is hobo 1.5 & it suits my daily needs. I'm beyond satisfied. No track nor roads in my neckodawoods, sadly....
But, don't fret...Orange Virus Tuning has done wonders for Sky. 1.5s have been seen outpacing stock 2.0s....w/o hardware mods. Purely ECU fine tuning. All tunes are customized from OVTusa. No piggybacks, no splicing, & most importantly, reversible, too.

The 2017 facelift now has a perfect grille, complete set of blades...
    Look at 2014-16's:

    Here's the Facelift:

1 hitch w/ the perfect grille...OE plate holder needs 4 HOLES drilled.

I've been getting a handful of requests for a facelift version of the original No-Drill Plate Relocator. The '14-'16 one won't fit. Had to start from scratch...
Finally after some wait, it's OUT & tested on variants w/ lip & without....
    With aero-lip:

    Without lip:

Overtaking how? Was the other driver not letting you pass by speeding also? Kahit naman anong sasakyan pag hindi ka pinagbigyan hirap talaga ikaw.

Mga kasabayan ko minsan mga v8 engines. Hirap sasakyan ko? Hindi naman. I see it differently.

Yup with the plate relocator, the 2017 grille looks better than the 2014-2106. I'm also looking for ways to conceal that center part. A member ordered a rectangle honeycombe grille, & he just cut it himself to fit it in front of the grille.

Relative to the M2? The 3's longer wheelbase, heavier body & spring rates make it much comfier than the 2.
In its class, the 3s suspension & steering are geared more towards the enthusiast. It's closer to the bimmer drive dynamics than most nippons.....Among the reasons that made my decision easier after thorough contender test drives.

So it's definitely not an Altis type of ride? How is the NVH sir? Stock speakers any good?

Nope, it's the best handling 1 can get in its class, hands down. Mazda paired its rev-happy, high compression Skyactiv engines w/ matched non CVT Sky trannies & lightweight frames. Lightening over sound deadening, Mazda valued more....so expect a bit more road noise. The facelift has seen improvements here, though.
Speakers? Depending on 1's audiophilia degree, I'd say. I've long outgrown that phase & am content w/ the 1.5's stock 1s.

I was not able to test drive a unit po kasi so I really would want user feedbacks. A dealer is giving me hefty discount since it's an inventory unit. And based on what you're saying, i think I'm going to be part of the club.
