Hello experts! May tanong po ako. Has anyone tried putting Petron instead of Shell in their M3's? Balak ko sana magpetron na lang. XCS ang ikarga. May difference ba yung iba ibang gas ang nilalagay sa makina? My SA just advised me to make sure to put 91 octane.

Ingit ako about all this talks about 18s. Tipid mode muna ako. Next year pa ang rims.

Wala naman problema basta ma-meet yung minimum octane. Shell ako but mostly for the SM points, credit card rebates at pinakamura dito sa amin among the big 3. Pero kung kailangan na nagpapakarga rin ako sa Caltex at Petron.

Also, bro Travs previous tire specs from 245/35/19 already changed to 225/40/19.

If you are not comfortable with the mild tire stretch, you could opt for 245/35/19 next time and it is already guaranteed that there will be no rubbing even when dropped.

Anyway, you may want to use this for reference:

We also have budget tires, Accelera Phis. So far everything is great though a bit pricier than Achilles.

Just a point of clarification as am about to change my tires to 225-40-19

Currently on 245-40-19, if you are saying that tires are too big for our MZ3,

Isnt it the only difference from the specs is the tire width? Not the sidewall ...wc i assume causes the rubbing.

Also what PSi do you have on your tires, tried lowering it from 45psi to 34psi and noticeable rubbing occurs.

    Thanks for your comments

both width and sidewall are affected bro. Tire's sidewall depends on the aspect ratio of the tire's width. The wider the tires, the higher the sidewall even if both of them (245 vs 225) have the same aspect ratio of 40%. Thus 245/40/19 (26.7" )has a bigger overall wheel diameter against 225/40/19 (26.1" ).

You have the correct offset (+45) so nothing to worry even if you have a wider (245) tire just make sure that you make it smaller (245/35/19).

Hot Hatch has 245/40/18 (+45), fortunately and confidently he doesn't experience rubbing even if he's dropped (TEIN).

Not sure about the perfect psi for the 245/40/19 but what i have right now is 36psi

Ah oks now i get it, thought the 40-35 is height of tires in inches lang and nothing to do w the width.

Anyhow just learned that achilles and accelera has only 225-35-19.

So i assume this is ok na.

    Tnx

Saw about 8 new 3's 3 days ago going the opposite direction of Mazda Alabang, Im sure papuntang warehouse ang mga yun.
Anyway I'll be having my PMS this Dec. Was wondering if anybody experiences a squeak in the rear when the car is parked with the parking brake engaged? Going to have it checked out, sana wala lang. And does anybody watch while they perform the maintenance? I'm worried baka wala masyadong gawin or di palitan ng oil if they see na konting Km lang ang tinakbo hehe.

I know they both carry 245/35 pero ang 225/40 is accelera, wala ang achilles nito. Masyado naman manipis ang 225/35 bro. Para kang kalesa nyan. Hehehe.

Look for 225/40/19s, as what Geo said, acespino sir. They will be about 10mm away from the fender & 8mm shorter in sidewall than your current 245/40s. You would be free from rub.
225s are spec'd to fit 6.5"-8.5" wide wheels.
You can't go wrong w/ Accelera PHIs. They're surprisingly good.
Thanks for your hand in the search, Geo brah.

Usually, Service area is off limits, unless they'd allow your appeal to watch. 1PMS is mostly visual checks, tightening, etc. Succeeding ones will get you oil changes among others regardless of how low your odometer reads.
Hope they get your squeak sorted, sir.
