There really are people who don't see the importance of good tires. By good tires, you don't necessarily have to buy the expensive, well-known brands (ie Bridgestone, Yokohama, etc). There are good tires at lower prices from other manufacturers like GT and Achilles, which are good enough even for track use.

There will always be no-name Chinese brands that are cheaper, but only by a few hundred pesos. Since your tires are the only parts of your car that are actually touching the road, it's something you shouldn't skimp on.

What's worse is that some of these "budget meal" folks have no qualms spending on unnecessary mods like LED bars, chrome this and that, noisy mufflers, and so on.

Ako naman, dahil puro city traffic lang naman ang route nung isang car kaya budget tires lang. Yung car na madalas pang long drive, hindi pwedeng budget tires

I've used both GT (Indonesia) and Falken (Japan) for the Revo, which has similar tire size to the L3. GT seems to be more quiet, but Falken has the sturdier sidewalls. Prices are similar (GT slightly more expensive), but bought from different dealers.

My GT's at the rear are well above 40tkms already and still quite thick. The fronts I replaced with Falken's when it ran around 30tkms.

If you ever see Westlake, stay away. I've ridden in two cars with Westlake tires and they have horribly loud road noise.

I bought the Falken for 3k/piece, 205/70/R14 size. GT was a few hundred more, same size.
