Yup, those prices are too high. Best to ask your local tire shop for their prices.

Pareho pa rin ng model yung Westlake ngayon and before. So I still wouldn't buy one.

Pwede siguro pangharabas but I really won't scrimp on tires. Maraming pwedeng tipirin but not tires. Few hundreds lang difference ng reputable tire brands (Toyo, Kumho, Falken, etc) sa Westlake.

But I see hundreds of cars with Westlakes and almost all tire shops carry them so ibig sabihin maraming bumibili.

Mine is totally gone. Would have been irresponsible to still eke out a few more kms on them. Was actually gonna replace the front tires first. Had a quote from yokohama for 10k a pc. Then i asked a out westlake..boom. replaced all 4 then and there.

I find Westlake better than GT Champiro Eco since Westlake has a quiet and more comfortable ride for me.

Remember to inquire about the load capacity and speed performance para ma mamatch mong mabuti ang tires sa vehicle mo.

*Tire's load index number. The load index number corresponds with the tire's load-carrying capacity. Simply put, don't install a tire with a lower load index number than your manufacturer recommends.

*Tire's speed rating. Follow your manufacturer's recommendation. You should only need to upgrade to a higher speed rating if you have modified your vehicle for track use, or if you are heading to Germany to drive on the Autobahn.

Personally, I prefer OEM-level tires brands and I think they're worth the extra over Chinese tires. I recently finished a set of Kumho Ecsta LE Sport tires and they served me very well for both daily use up the mountains and track days. The tires remained grippy until the end, and I never hydroplaned even in the rain.

Now, I have a set of Yokohama Advan V701s and performance in both wet and dry has been good. Tire wear also seems to be minimal as I've gone over 12,000 km and the tread is still good as new.

Mid-range tires are only a few hundred pesos more expensive per tire than your typical Westlake, so for me they're a worthwhile expense. Tires are the only parts of your car in contact with the road so I would rather spend on them than on accessories or whatnot.

yung hanap ko kz is 215/65/14, si Westlake lang mayron. OEM is 225, pero i need a notch narrower dahil sa metal parking d2 sa building namin. I was eyeing for maxxis and thunderer kaso wala sila ng ganung size. Any recommendations?

215/65/14 talaga? That's a very odd tire size. What car? Biggest 14 inch tire I've seen is only 205/70/14.

Yep. Happened to be in convoy with my brother who was using my other car so I got the dashcam video from there.

A few thousands difference is still worth it IMO. Achilles for my size is around 3.5k, while Advan V701 is 5.5k. So that's roughly 8k difference for a set. If the tires last 2 years, then I spent 4k per year for better tires and peace of mind. To each his own of course - after all it's your money, your car, your safety.

Had Nankangs in my Vios a loooong time ago. They are fine for everyday driving. And decent mileage for a budget tire.

But since I live far nowadays I only trust established midrange to premium brands. The extra grip allows me to get to my destination more quickly.
