How extensive was the damage? You don't really have to strip it to metal since it is not corroded. Stripping to metal strips the factory anti-corrosion coating. A coating that you can only get from the factory. You can just sand the color and prep the surface then reapaint. No need to get down to bare metal.

Otep question lang. This is my first time to drive a 4WD vehicle kasi. Is the thugging sound when you engage the 4WD-Lo drive normal for an electronically controlled shift or it can also be heard sa manually shift 4WD system? TIA

performance and durability, didn't have problems as of the moment.. Aftersales, in Cebu, they are better now compared to before, I think its because Kia Cebu is under new management..

I also had my 15K service yesterday at Kia Batangas and the cost is P3,300. However, when I saw how much for the 20K PMS, P9,800 which includes change of fuel filter. Same ho kaya sa ibang service center? TIA for any info.

idagdag ko lang.
i complained about the horn in our sorento yesterday by saying that it probably needs adjustment because i have to press hard for it to blow. they said they will replace the horn mechanism under warranty.
i just dont know if they really did replace it but the horn works fine now.

Also had the same complaint in my unit. I tested the others on display and it seems really needs adjustment. Unfortunately, the SA said its normal and will soften with constant use. Till now, there is no improvement. Will notify them again in the next PMS.

Thanks for the info gregg_g! Noong una di ko pa alam how to shift to 4WD-lo. I tried doing it while naka nasa drive ako and it won't work, then try ko again after shifting to neutral at doon ko na encounter ang thugging sound. If you haven't tried it yet, masasabi ko lang is malakas ang 4WD-lo gear ng Sorento.

Been driving my Sorento for 2 years now. Performance and durability never been a problem. Sa dealer ko which is Wheels, their aftersales service is great. Saka sa dami na ng KIA/Hyundai dealers ngayon, I think aftersales service will not be a problem.If ever you're not happy with your dealer's aftersales service, you can try the other dealer. It's not like before na very limited.

Hmmm... mukhang mahal nga ang air filter. Parang nasa 450-550 lang price nyan. Saka 9,800 for 20K PMS mukhang mataas yata yan. I paid that much sa wheels ng magpaservice ako ng Sorento ko last time pero kasama ang interior detailing if my memory serves me right. Scout ka din sa ibang KIA dealers for comparison.

even sa eb explorer namin, meron ding thug sound when in 4-lo....at nasa manual naman so no need worry

Thanks RedHorse! Korean kasi ang naka sulat sa manual na kasama ng Sorento ko kaya experiment ginawa ko ng una. One time nga napindot ng anak ko ang seat heaters so uminit at di ko alam papano switch off. Tapos yong second row seat hirap akong slide forward para makapasok sa 3rd row seat yong passenger ko yon pala once na fold mo isa sa 2nd row seat ay automatic mag slide and whole 2nd row seats....

makes me wonder what accounts for the big difference in the cost of parts among different KIA dealers/service centers.
pati charging yata ng labor, iba-iba. diba dapat halos pare-pareho lang yan among kia authorized service centers?

Talked to my friend and was told that the fuel filter of Sorento will cost around 5K. Other jobs to be done are the following:check-up and cleaning of brakes, retightening of underchassis and other minor check-ups (high scan pro), top up of all fluids and lubrication of all door hinges. But since he is a Sorento club member, he was given 10% discount. So sa lahat ng satisfied Sorento owners na di pa member ng Sorento club, register and be a member now. Sayang din 10% discount sa bill. Baka sa accessories meron din discount
