Depende naman sa needs mo eh. Identify what you're looking for in a car so you don't get swayed by every single suggestion thrown at you.

The 1.23M Sorento is a manual and looks very bare. If you're getting that, chances are you're gonna spend for fogs, roof rails and side mirrors so dagdag pa sa cost. It also has much less features compared to the GT-A. No automatic wipers, headlamps, climate control and whatnot. No fancy audio system. In exchange for all that, you get much, much more space.

Of course, the two cars drive very differently too. With its higher center of gravity, the Sorento will feel less nimble through corners. On the flipside, potholes and steep parking ramps are no longer a problem with its high ground clearance compared to the GT-A.

The Sorento will have slightly better fuel consumption by virtue of its eVGT diesel engine. However, maintenance will be more costly.

Personally, if I only had one car, I'd get a GT-A over a Sorento because I don't need the extra space and I take a lot of spirited drives. Cheaper too.

    Hi Sorento owners.

I am inclined to buy a sorento lx m/t diesel. I have read through the forum but couldn't find the answer to my question.
How many kilos of load can the sorento take? I have to load some sacks of rice occasionally (thinking of about 300 to 400 kilos - 6 to 8 sacks)as this is going to be part of my sorento's duty. I hope someone can tell me. Thanks.

400 kilos is about 880 pounds, so like loading it with 7-8 people. But then, your sacks of rice are deadweight kaya effectively heavier on the carrier. I don't think the Sorento will we able to take that much punishment, especially on a regular basis. The MS would probably be of better service. But methinks, a pick up would be more suited for hauling that much.

    Thanks for your opinions.

The loading will happen only occasionally. Maybe up to a maximum of 4 sacks is tolerable? (around 200 kgs). May I know the difference between the Montero and Sorento in terms of loading capacity? Is it the body construction (mono something??) vs with "chassis"?

    Tanong lang mga masters...

Contemplating sa offer of ng office mate - a Sorrento 2006 4x4 LX matic for 500k.
    Its condition:
    --105k mileage
    --Sony HU.
--Casa Maintained sya from the previous owner.. may papers naman. Nreplace na last year yung belt.

--How much regular change oil kaya nito?

    Anyway, here's my baby

^ fwd + high engine torque = torque steer. expected na yan. konti lang naman unless you floor the accelerator in which case you are suppose to have a firm hand on the wheel anyway. pati santa fe ganyan. di kasi LSD.

They use kia 10w-30.

I know good sya for better fuel economy and high speed engines etc. but feel ko masyado sya malabnaw para sa daily edsa type traffic ng metro manila.

and you don't know that being awd does not matter after 50 kph because the awd disengages automatically at speeds above 50 kph. at >50kph the sorento is a fwd no matter how big the awd decal at the back may be. i know his unit is awd, but he was talking of 120kph speed. at that speed it is a FWD.

nagmamagaling ka e palpak ka naman.
