actually changed the alarm/immobilizer and I had it in Autofocus in Ramos, but I think Tri-J has good technicians and CFG too... just be there during the installation so that you can be able to supervise too...

If you don't mind, what part of Cebu are you from? Probably we can meet or invite you in my workplace or place...

don't have a name, but just ask its about 4k and it includes immobilizer... Its in autofocus ramos..

Its bumpy than my corolla, but i know before hand that it would be like that since i test drove a lot of times. Pero can't compare naman talaga kasi ibang level naman yong corolla at sorento. Gusto ko talaga ang sorento, my other option was a fortuner pero yong boss ko na meyrong fortuner gusto nyng ibenta, nag less 200K panga sya para ma bienta lang, eats a lot of fuel daw. I also heard some not goodnews didto sa tsikot about fortuners and innovas.
For a week talagang maraming kaming pinuntahan, gusto ko kasing mag first PMS na. btw ok lang bang hindi mamahalin na oil yong gamitin ko on my first oil change, or dapat talagang synthetic? tnx

we had 2 PMS already and in each of these 2, regular mineral-based oil lang nilagay. ito din ang nirecommend ng SA namin basta regular lang daw ang pagpalit. so why spend more using synthetic oil?

boss first time ko kasing mag order if ever mag kano bang binayran mo sa customs kung meron man, kasi yong laptop na pinadala nang office namin sa norway 20k yung binayad namin. tnx.

joshryanne, depende sa laki ng items. Di ko lang alam exactly ilang percent charge nila sa akin pero it's not that expensive. Acutally pwede ka naman maki bargain sa kanila minsan. Sa experience ko, sa receipt na kasama ng items minsan, lagay nila mababang price lang like when I ordered my euro style taillights cover. Original price was $65 but nakita ko sa receipt $35 dollars lang. Kaya siguro mahal charge sa computer mo dahil lagay nila ang talagang buying price. Ang alam ko na ginagawa ng iba, either declare nila second hand or palagay mo sa receipt pag bili mo mas mababang price.

Btw although my SA said that it's okay to use biodiesel but does any of u guys use it? pros and cons naman mga pre re: use of biodiesel. tnx.

My Sorento everytime it goes for engine service, I always specify to use fully
synthetic oil maski na regular naman maintenance nya. Problema eh kung fully synt nga lagay nila since we can't see it when they do the service. Tiwala na lang since kilala ko SA na. Gamit nila is OWS oil and it's from Germany I think. I'm thinking na mabuti na fully synt oil to be on safe side lagi since the way the Sorento is performing, I'm planning to keep this truck for 5 years or maybe more.
Biodiesel, yeah I'm using it sa Sorento ko. Before ko sya full tank, I'm putting in 4 liters of Seaoil's BIOEXCEED at sa Seaoil na rin ako pa full tank. Feeling ko mas maganda ang response ng makina saka feeling ko some improvements din sa acceleration. Sa take off laging una...hehehe

Yeah, kailan nga kaya? Magandang variant yan ng Sorento with 170-175hp output for the same engine size 2.5L. Ano kaya torque rating nito? Maganda sana kung pareho ng description ni Otep which is being sold sa Korean market...hope

Had my sorento serviced, and had my fuel filter changed for the 20k PMS... I was surprised how muched it cost... good that I had my Mastercard, because I was thingking that it will just be less than 2k, but to my surprise its 6k, anyway, at least you have some peace of mind....

the only thing in the manual that specifies a specific blend (like synthetic) is the auto transmission where you need to use the apollo red atf, which only kia is selling. Its different from dexron II or III, so don't mix it...

I am just worried because the SA said that its fill for life, but in our manual it says 40k kms, maintenance.... hmmm..

Saw a sorento being serviced here, to change the tranny fluid they will have to drop the tranny and change the oil and clean/change filter since hindi daw accessible if they would not bring it down. BTW the Kia dealer here and Cebu was once owned by one person.

Baka naman kaya ng transtech iyan or other dialysis machines.

Dun din sa nagservice ng Starex wala silang ATF flush machine, drop tranny din ang gusto gawin nung gumagawa. Ayoko kasi ng drop pan lang hindi naaalis lahat. Ayoko din naman ng drop tranny. Baka dialysis na nga lang.

pa-clarify naman, gregg_g, 6k for the whole 20k PMS or just for the fuel filter? need to know because we are just 5k from 20k PMS and the SA said palitan nga yun sa next PMS namin.

btw, i just had the sorento serviced for 15k PMS yesterday at kia pasay. breakdown of expense:
labor 1288
regular oil (8 liters) 1528

air filter 750
total 4094

ganun ba kamahal talaga ang air filter?
checked in the vehicle at 9 am and was finished before 12 noon. binalikan ko nalang at 1 pm.
nagpaturo din ako how to remove the glove compartment so i can reach the aircon filter. when they showed me the filter, hindi pala flat type ito na pwede mong palitan nung nabibili na filter sa ace hardwares. para syang corrugated type.

i also saw 2 brand-new sportage in their stock area. looks nice especially the rear portion. once inside, it's like a small sorento. kaya lang de-gas 2.0 liter. P969T daw ang introductory price.

Got your request gregg and I'll check it out pag uwi ko. Still 2 more weeks to go. Besides, I need to have them check my unit since my wife told me that she observed that the left signal light is working erratically. I hope it's just a light bulb problem. Sa fuel filter mo naman, I believe KIA issued a memo to change the fuel filter automatically every 20K service. They did it when they encountered a problem sa unit ng taga PG who went to pagudpud. Pag uwi nya biglang nag "check engine" indication sya and everytime he will try to accelerate di ko lang natanong kung anong speed, his engine dies. Pero naka balik pa rin sya ng Manila at yon nga, the culprit is his dirty fuel filter. Unit nya is over 20K na that time.

Femac (Kia Quezon Ave.) has the Tomato and [tacky] Euro grille.

I think they also have the chrome covers for the side mirror.

Personally, I'd just get the Tomato grille. The mirror covers also tend to look tacky. The Sorento was designed to look very clean and have minimal chrome. Non-OEM plastic chrome also tends to age faster than the car itself. Madali mag-mukhang luma. Siyempre maganda siya tignan sa tindahan or sa catalog.

I was thinkin una white, tas bronze ung bottom pero naisip ko since mahal din nmn babayaran ko.. bka may mas magandang color pa.

i complained about the horn in our sorento yesterday by saying that it probably needs adjustment because i have to press hard for it to blow. they said they will replace the horn mechanism under warranty.
i just dont know if they really did replace it but the horn works fine now.
