Yes, (1) bleeder knob is relocated for easy access (2) Bigger and better filter element for superior filtering of rust and other fuel micro particles (3) enhance water sensor with drain plug (so you can drain the water).

I called kia before lunch time. Iba naman ang theory nila. Baka bara ang injector kasi parang kulang ang fuel na pumapasok sa engine. I told them kasi kung enlarged ang tips, the excess fuel will cause smoke belching, e wala naman. 2nd last June ang renewal ko, 0.35 ang score ko, which is fantastic. They are sending it to a calibration shop daw. Sabi ko ok to ask their opinion, pero huwag muna buksan kasi sayang naman kung bubuksan. I told them what if barado, can we try an additive that seems to work in cleaning injectors? As expected, di pwede kasi di nila alam kung ano ang short and long term effects nun. Meron kasi kaming additive that is effective in cleaning the injectors that may cause smoke belching, or noisy pump due to lubricity issues. Wow, ang labo ng kia!!

I asked them what kind of filter does the sedona has, how come may bara sa injector, bakit di na filter. The filter daw has a sedimentor, pero wala naman daw nakita when they bled it. I asked if it will help if we install a 2ndary filter. Pwede daw, up to me. Tanong ko nga what kind of filter ang nakakabit as mentioned by lensio.

(sigh) got my own woes from my purchase of a repossessed kia carnival 2. in all the bank's offers and even on the deed of sale, it says it's a 2003 model. now upon closer inspection, there's a metal plate under the hood which if i'm not mistaken (in korean kasi) shows the unit was released in 2001. but the more telling proof is the 2 stickers under the 2003 LTO sticker on the license plate, which were hardly visible in their dark warehouse. OR/CR doesn't say what model it is.

feeling terribly stupid right now just taking the bank's word. i sent a letter to the division manager of the bank demanding for a reduction of the price for their misreperesentation. medyo dehado nga lang ako sa aking position dahil sale terms "as is where is". but let's see, they said they would verify my claim.

on the other hand it's still a good purchase price even for a 4 year old car. just got it from kia quezon ave this pm, and the service manager upon hearing how much i got it for, offered to buy it from me with add'l P20k. almost bit into their offer of P1960 for OEM brake pads, good thing i was able to contact diesoline who was in town and turns out Fronte sells similar pads for much less.

trendy, grabe malas naman nung need for overhaul, but those are the breaks. at least now you have a practically new engine.

altec, sana di naman dahil sa biodiesel. alam kong nilaban mo talaga yung paggamit nyan against all unscientific thinking and we reaped the benefits of your study at kotse.com. have you checked into how senbel manufactures their bd? nakakataas kasi ng confidence yung gawa ng chemrez dahil malaki and modern ang planta nila sa libis.

mikey, salamat for the spare tire release diagram. really need to get tools for my unit, tumatakbo akong walang jack o tire wrench. (pero dunlop lemans naman gulong ko, hehe.)

yung driver side internal door handle mechanism nasira. hatakin mo lever, walang nangyayari, kailangan pang buksan ang bintana at buksan from the outside. hassle and wa poise.

questions: talaga bang nabababa (but not close) ang mga front windows kahit walang susi sa ignition? itong door mechanism, casa lang ba may kayang mag-ayos o may kia specialist talyer somewhere? naiinis lang kasi ako minsan sa casa, parang tanga turing sa iyo sa presyuhan. signal light bulb P95, wala pang labor.

The metal plate most probably means it was manufactured and released in Korea in 2001, and if 2003, yun yung time pumasok siya dito as a gray unit and registered in the Philippines for the 1st time. The basis of its year model is the year it was registered locally, not the year it was manufactured, unfortunately. But if there are two stickers there, did you try to remove them to see what years they represent? Walang LTO sticker in the front windshield?

AFAIK, Senbel is the pioneer in biodiesel in the Philippines, and is one of two accredited philippine manufacturer, chemrez being the other. Yung bagong planta ng chemrez, I think is still not operational or fully on line yet. Senbel is still the biggest producer, although small unless they go commercial and that is why there is now the government's stand on alternative fuels, but it is chemrez who has taken the most advantage of it. Personally, di ko pa rin makapaniwala na nakakasira ang biodiesel sa injectors directly. I would tend to think that biodiesel's solvent and cleaning effect would make particles finer, and the existing filters, especially the replacement ones, deem insufficient. Existing filters I think are made of paper or carton (diesoline has a better specific description of it) while the better filters should be aquaphonic or something like that, that even water will not go through. That's the only explanation I could think of how dirt and water can still pass through and clog the injectors. Clogged injectors would force the pump to work harder, thus causing increased operating temperatures, which may cause the premature wear. All of these similar to the idea of clogged arteries that require heart bypass for the human heart.

But if this theory is accurate, the effect is exaggerated, because the problems I have encountered plus those I've read were few. If it was really causing the clogging, then it would be experienced more often di ba? In other countries, major engine and vehicle manufacturers have made their official stand regarding biodiesel at BD5 being safe for their engines. So how would we, at BD1 or 2, be any different?

As what the local subdealer said, if Kia will say that my warranty is voided due to the use of biodiesel, I would tell them that with the planned blend being made mandatory, then all brand new diesel rides warranty would automatically be void! And if they claim that I used a nonaccredited brand, I have asked my estrol supplier for documents so I can show them otherwise.

    leolop,

kung 2001 yung unit mo, diba 1st generation Carnival pa yon, yung medyo pa-curve yung tail light, as compared with the Gen 2 that has a more boxy-looking tail light.

Ganito kasi yung tail light ng 2002 ang later na models:

Is there any way of knowing a vehicle's manufacture date from the serial number sticker that is usually placed at the window of one of the sliding doors?

carnival II naman talaga unit ko, probably one of the first that came out, and one of the last na j3 tdic and makina. kaya nga nagulat ako sa post ni lensio na sa korea crdi na dapat ang mga 2003 model and that made me check closer.

altec, masyasdo lang siguro CYA (cover your ass) ang attitude ng casa, kaya ang bilis ng bukambibig na it's the owner's fault by using biodiesel. but like i said, you've championed against unscientific thinking and won over it so far. challenge them to say it in writing that it is their official conclusion, and i'll bet tiklop agad si mokong.

Leplop, sad to say you got the first batch of carnival ii. Yes you're correct also that the production date you stated was correct. TCI model was obsete in Korea in 2002 but they still produced it for export only. Yong 2002 model onwards, and tail light niya ay naiba ng konti, the reverse & signal light were located sa gitna.

In 2000, Kia was selling both TCI and CRDI model, pero mas mahal yong CRDI until na maubos young TCI units, then lahat na CRDI. Yong sedona ko, I bought it 2004 but the importation papers says it was manufactured 2003. I was very lucky at that time kasi, it was the last sedona diesel being sold.

Haven't tried it on my Carnival Park II but I can fold/unfold the side mirrors up to 30 seconds after ignition is turned 'off'.
