    gats,

Is your Sedona a gas or diesel variant, and is it an M/T or A/T.

I have a 2002 diesel with a manual transmission, and I get an average of 10 km/li (mostly highway driving, often with aggressive overtaking; average speed 80 kph). HTH.

Jordan, that's the emergency shift-lock release in case something jams the foot brake-shifter release link.

Guys, I was browsing through our thread as I was planning to buy a roof carrier to attach to the roof rack as I plan to travel to Baguio in March eh kulang ang space for luggage and stuff sa likod. Is the roof carrier adviceable especially for long trips? Has anyone installed one? If so, how is it and how much?

    Help naman diyan. TIA

Hello! My brother-in-law's Carnival LS has this problem and you might have an idea what is causing it. When he shuts-off the engine, and it takes about an hour before he could re-start it again. The battery is quite new. What could be causing it? Thanks in advance.

ericmm::: I'll try to ask the doctor friend of my wife where he got his roof carrier installed.

gats::: mas mababa yata yung mileage ng A/T, lalo na kung puro stop and go city driving lang. Just maintain a clean air filter and have your PMS done on time; these may improve your fuel mileage.

Hayward::: Is your brother-in-law's Carnival a diesel or a V6 gas model? Has he had a mechanic go over it?

Ano ang nangyayari pag sinubukan nyang i-start yung van bago mag isang oras? Does it crank but fail to start, or is there no reaction at all when he turns the key?

    Ericmm,

The rack on top is actually a carrier so you really don't have to install another one, pabigat lang yun aside from dagdag gastos. Just evenly distribute your stuff on top and tie it down OK na yan, I do that everytime I go home to Baguio with my family. I think there is also a load limit (ganun din pag nilagyan mo ng roof rack) but vacation baggage is just OK, just make sure to line the roof with cartons or some other thing to prevent scratches.

    Mikey177,
Looking forward for the feedback from your findings.

    Salonika,
Thought of doing that kaso I just wanted to make sure that the stuff on top is secure but then again you are right, just make sure that they are tied down tight and proper. Really thought of having the carrier para secure yung gamit and the roof is free from damage.

Did it ever happen na sinita ka ng police sa NLE or SLEX?

Sir mikey177: The Carnival is a Diesel model. Pag less than an hour nya pina-start, ayaw mag-crank ang engine nya kaya he lets it cool down bago mapaandar uli.

    hayward,

"click" lang ang naririnig niyo when you try to start the carnival?

ericmm::: The doctor I asked said he had his roof rack installed in Banawe.

    Hello guys,

I need your help. Its been 7 days since that my Carnival is down. The mechanic that my father-in-law recommended change the timing belt and the oil pump stuff. Ayaw mag start dahil walang pressure sa injectors. It looks like the magnetic switch at the injector is not functioning. Symptoms are no tacho reading and the engine won't start. Sabi nila that tachometer gets its reading from the injection pump. Thats why we suspect the electronics of the injection pump.

Anybody here has a service manual for the J3 tdic?

    tnx

    Rodski

When yo mean aways mag-start, nagka-crank lang ba ang engine when you turn the ingnition key. CRDi ba engine mo or TDi. Kong TDi try pumping the manual pump located on the top of the furl filter assembly while you crank the engine, tapos i-bleed mo nangkunti.

Rodski, kung electronics ang suspect, better to check first for busted fuse or broken lines leading to the fuel pump assembly. Also, check the fuel filter...

As for the tacho, it read the magnetic switch as the source of signal. this will not give reading if the RPM is very low.

    Hello Guys,

The engine is cranking but not starting. Ok yung sa fuel filter we did that. We found out last night that the injection pump has two magnetic switch. One switch is busted. Kahit may 12v ayaw mag move yung piston. So parang fuel cut off situation yung mode noong magnetic switch. This switch is located sa ilalim ng injection pump. Yung switch sa ibabaw ok naman.

I will inform you guys kung nakabili ako ng magnetic switch at gumana pag naikabit.

    tnx

Di ko lang ma-gets... do you mean the trouble with the engine started AFTER the mechanic worked on the timing belt and oil pump?

    Hello Mickey,

Yes, after installing the timing belts and oil pump umandar ng 30 mins. Tapos namatay. Hindi na mag start. However, rumeredondo yung starter.

Check mo yung starter motor.

    tnx

Hayward, if click lang, most probably starter motor nga ung sira, try to force start (tulak) pag umandar then it's starter motor. Sa starter motor ussually ung carbon brush ang culprit (upod na), in some case ung magnetic inductor (cleaning lang).

Rodski, am plan to replace timing belts also soon... how long did it take? di ba mahirap humanap ng parts? pa PM naman nung cost kung pwede... thanks!
