This is what I find weird. Nakahanap na ng solution for the Accent's poor FC by doing some tweaks on the ECU but for the Rio, wala pa rin until now.

The Rio would have been nice, and possibly be the Jazz' strongest contender if it weren't for the poor FC. 5.5km/L on the city is very disturbing. It's a 1.4L ! Not a 3.5L V6 midsized sedan.

Yung kay cyberian, diyan pa yan sa CDO. Paano pa kaya kapag dinala yan dito at sinabak sa EDSA traffic ? :hammer:

hi renzo talagang weird everytime na sabihan ko mga tao sa casa about the hyundai accent fc pfoblem that was later fixed, parang hindi sila interesado, eh sister company nila yun at they share car parts same pa nga engine nila ewan ko ba kung ka kunchaba ba nila mga gasoline station

Guys, may nakita akong article na medyo interesting. About ECU Tweaking para maimprove yung fc. I'm not 100% sure kung applicable ito sa mga Rio HB or kung ito mismo yung ginawa sa mga Accent na nagka fc problem. Hopefully meron talagang marunong tumingin and mag-diagnose like engineer mismo ng Kia from korea. Para kung sakaling galawin man yung ECU, hindi maging worse yung fc problem.

    Hi guys.

    Finally got my Rio!

Ang kinarga ko muna sa kanya is Shell Fuel Save (regular unleaded) and so far I have no complaints with it

So far, namaneho ko na siya from The Fort to Pasig via C5 and from Pasig to Makati, then to The Fort and back. Basta dun lang ang ikot: Pasig <---> The Fort <---> Makati .... and everytime na nalabas ko siya, rush hour, so slow and heavy yung traffic.

The steering is very soft and responsive. Swabe lang din ang acceleration and braking.

The only bad thing is that my fuel consumption is at 22L/100Km, which translates to a dismal 4.55 Km/L... now I don't know if this is a combination of the heavy traffic routes + me being a newbie driver (just learned last month and got my license last week) --- but rest assured, I'll be keeling a close eye at the fuel consumption of this car.

Wow! 4.55km/l? Is that 1.2L or 1.4L? MT or AT?

^ Newly bought (just this Saturday) 1.4 EX AT Sedan.

I had Eco ON btw (I was almost sure only the hatchback had this so I surprised to see that my car had this feature has well). Not sure what difference that makes.

And it took me almost two and a half hours to cover ~16km this afternoon during rush hour for its maiden voyage, so I passed through heavy traffic for sure.

WTF?! naka ECO on na yun?! Can you try without using that? I wonder how worse could that get. I seriously hope your FC will get better.

We'll see. When I've tried taking it out during Sundays or maybe take a trip to Tagaytay and back, let's what numbers will pop up. Because for now, it's only seen action in bumper-to-bumper traffic.

But even then: What FC are we expecting to see from a typical subcompact in bumper-to-bumper traffic (~6.4kph ave in rush hour traffic) for a 2.5h drive? This is assuming the driver is an experienced and "fuel efficient" driver. Not a newbie like me.

Sana nga. Kasi meron pa ring nakakaexperience ng 5.3km/l. Yung sa akin inoobserbahan ko pa. Bad FC din reklamo ko. Yung casa sabi inupdate yung firmware nung nagpa 1K PMS ako. July 2012 acquired yung unit ko. My car's average fc is 6.33km/l. Sana nga makuha sa ecu tweak. Kaya naghihintay ako dito sa thread para malaman kung ano magiging solution sa Rio. I'm thinking na maiaapply din solution sa Accent.

Ang solusyon dyan Palitan nyo gulong nyo to like yun stock issue sa accent or sedan rio. The 17" rims is the culprit why ganyan ka grabe FC nyo.

Okay update: Reset the km/100L reading this morning and travelled in morning rush traffic (6:30am to 8am) from Cainta/Pasig to Makati to The Fort (16km).

    Got an fc of 16.5L/100km = 6.06 km/L.

hi pop3corn i dont think fc will dramatically improve kahit palitan yun gulong ng hatchback, kasi kung ako nga lang sakay ng auto ko going to work and minus the spare tire ganon pa din ang fc. meron talaga problem sa ECU and i believe the culprit is the auto climate control ng rio5,hindi ko lang alam kung yun kay valacirca kung climate control din ang aircon ng 4 door sedan A/t.

hi valacirca ask ko lang ano aircon mo is it manual or the full auto climate control din tulad sa rio hatchback?

If it took you one and a half hours to go 16 kilometers, there's your problem.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Considering morning rush traffic in the Pasig, Fort and Makati areas though, it seems like a problem that has no solution.

So I'm guess my fc problem has more to do with traffic conditions rather than car issues.

Try leaving 30 mins to an hour earlier for a week and do the FC calculation again.

Our Vios AT averages between 8-9kpl on normal EDSA traffic. It however dropped to 6kpl last Christmas. Maybe the 1 hour spent looking for parking in Greenhills was a factor considering it was only a bit over 1km from the house to the mall

Go on an out-of-town trip when you're able to so you will have an idea on the FC without the usual bumper to bumber traffic.

Yung iba ganun pa rin. 6km/l din FC. Yung iba tanggap na yata na ganon talaga FC ng Accent lalo na pag city driving. I'm still hoping na maaayos ang problema natin.
