Meron bang backing sensor ang EX CRDi A/T? o optional lang ito?
Really considering this car for the family. Hinihintay ko lang mabenta crosswind ko para pang downpayment.

Thank you sir, una ko rin nakita yung LX variant sa nagdisplay sa clubhouse ng subdivision namin. After a few days, I went to the nearest showroom. WoW! ganda ng EX! Hopefully, early next year may Carens na kami.

afaik, kung ex, meron back up sensor, at least doon sa signet where we ordered our ex. yung naka display na indigo blue ex crdi at (2008 model) merong sensor plus the illuminated keyhole... mukhang sa ex lang meron nitong dalawang features. kasi yung officemate ni misis, yung tawad niya sa unit is the inclusion of the sensor. lx crdi at sa kanya...

pero interesting thing is that nung pumasyal ako sa kia new manila (ex crdi at also), walang back up sensor... parang iba iba nga ata dumarating....

i saw our unit last week sa 2nd floor nila pero wasn't able to check her out inside out masyado. i hope nandun nga lahat, including the heated mirrors... sabagay, nandun sa quote nila yung mga features na yun....

encouraging figures rin on your fcs guys. parang wine siguro crdi, improving with age...

btw, do your manuals say how to break in your carens? it's been a long while since we had a new vehicle and i'm at a loss kung paano mag break in uli.

sana mailabas na namin next week. kung hindi lang kasi nanggulo si trillanes kasi kahapon.... ayun napa half day sina kumander... di tuloy nailabas p.o. from purchasing... kainis!!!

I already posted in the Innova thread as a would be owner by Dec15. However, another forumer by the name of Radical me go and look at the Carens. Now I have a problem. I was deadset on getting the Innova E 2.0At gas variant and here comes a great dealer from Kia Sgt Esguerra offering me a no-commitment 5 day trial of the Carens EX variant. It will be delivered to my place tomorrow and will stay till Wednesday for free. I will now have to alter between the Innova and Carens thread to be able to make a decision.

Just my humble opinion, what about the resale? Most people have put a stigma on the brand Kia and here comes the great Carens wanting to prove me wrong.

    Radical,

I am now just more confused as to what I should get

Talk to you later and will post here about my experience. Now I feel gay, Innova or Carens? Dunno but will definitely get one!

Why worry about the resale value? Thats what I don't like when we people think of the resale value first before actually testing the car/unit itself.

BTW. has anyone tried using 17" mags ?

Just like most, Im thinking forward like what do I get from this 3-5 years from now? I believe there is nothing wrong with that as we all know a vehicle is the worst investment depending on your purpose. But you may be right, why worry now when you should be enjoying life

that's a great offer! you'll be able to test drive her for 5 days? at least on the merits of the car itself, you'll be able to decide on your final choice better. langya, wala in-offer na ganyan yung salesman ko ah....

there's this thread on resale value of kia rondos...

    fireblade,

Mababa talaga ang resale value ng Kia, wala tayong magagawa dyan. In the Kia Carnival thread, altec was complaining about how even his local Kia dealer was offering lower-than-market resale value for his 4-year old, casa maintained unit.

Nonetheless, thoughts of dismal resale value have not prevented me or my family from savoring the benefits of owning a Carnival for the past five years. My minivan has travelled almost 165,000 kilometers in this time, and has brought us safely and comfortably across the provinces in northern Luzon on a regular basis. There is no Kia stigma for me, as I have personally proven that my Carnival is just as reliable as the Japanese cars that we have owned in the past, all of which also broke down at one time or another.

We may sell the Carnival in three years time, after we are done paying for our year-old Starex. By that time, I won't give a hoot about resale value.

If you need a bigger car - 8 occupants with some cargo storage, go for Innova. Otherwise, go for Carens - 7 occupants with no more cargo space.

I agree, the Carens is in my garage now. No more space once I lifted the thrid row. Engine is very perky pero wala ring back sensor and parang di naka mags. The dealer brought it to my house at 645am, nakatayo pa buhok ko

Verdict as of 5:10pm , it is a mom's car. Given that I have my wife, two kids and a nanny who goes with us, space is a bit tight. Legroom is ok, ground clearance is a bit low, great diesel ride. The biggest problem really is the cargo space once I bring it out of town with family. The engine is very responsive and the shift from diesel to gas is something else. Also, the tiptronic is something that I got to try for the first time. Shifting from AT to Manual was fun and very new for me. Still have 4 days to test it, but it is really the cargo space that is a big letdown. However, the cost of diesel is something that makes me smile given my current consumption with the Escape. Btw, the ride is very comfortable coz of the suspension. My 4 year old loves the third row but it becomes uncomfortable for my 12 year old as the trip gets longer. Will update further as I continue with the test ride

This could be a tight fix especially if you are going to the grocery with kids on a weekend. The roof rack may help you during long trips. On my way home last night at about 1130pm from QC to Paranaque, my wife agrees the suspension is really good as we hit C5. Overtook a lot of cars along the way and my foot was very light on the pedal. Unfortunately, I only hit 160kph at one point and it was just a short burst. Going down the parking ramp, I had to be careful as the front bumper clearance is a bit low. Also, while backing up the rear bumper is threatened to scrape the cement with a full load. Btw, the horn is a simple poot poot and I dont even know if it can be heard. It is on its way now to the Rockwell being driven by my CEO-my wife, two kids and a nannyOh yeah, the engine noise is not that bad both in and out

Just an update of my Day 2 experience

Yes, the limited cargo space if you use the third seat row was not a deterrent in my decision to buy a Carens. EQAddict is right - you can install a roof rack.

okay pla yung dealership na yun. 5 day trial. not bad. it will surely give a potential buyer of what to expect if he/she decides to purchase this vehicle. I must admit, I was about to get this car as well. after considering my status, I opt to get another vehicle. but for me, this car seems okay. the screen saver of carens is what i used for my PC. hehehheh
