Wrong marketing move. Here we see a growing number of owners who were brave to risk good money for a brand which is yet to prove its mark in the local market. Then now would-be owners would have second thoughts about acquiring one because higher list prices will deter a future buyer's decision to buy a Kia-badged vehicle, particularly the competitively packaged Carens.

BTW, there is likelihood that the local warranty will go from 3 years/110,000 to 5 years/100,000 just like Hyundai's.

Kia's listening too much to their parent company.

Kia or Columbian Motors should hold off any increases until:
    1. there is a foot-hold with the market because of a proven badge and make,
    2. brand loyalty is established (It takes a few years to build high brand loyalty. A mistake or misstep in marketing will slow down brand-building), and
    3. there is a good share of the market (think top 3 car brand in the Philippines after Toyota and Honda).

Not at this time. Few brave buyers will find themselves with small returns for their investments.
i agree. 100k+ price increase is too much. the fact that nissan grand livina will be released this june dapat nga hindi sila mag increase. gaano ba kalakas ang sales nila. i seldom see this car sa road which means di ganong kalakas ang sales.

i'm really considering this car even though i't hasnt proven/ established its competitiveness in the market but because of the sudden and big increase in price im totally disappointed

Thanks bro! I still don't have my actual unit but at least, Kia Pasig was kind enough to lend me a demo unit while I'm waiting for my actual unit to be released. Tapos, inaasikaso na rin nila yung license plates ko at the same time - hopefully, this will mean that I won't have to wait that long for my license plates!

yari ang carens, pag totoo tung balita, definitely pagbakasyon ko on 3rd week of June ay out na sya sa list ko sa family car, anyway nandyan naman grand livina, fuzion (hopefully di nila aalisin 100K disc) and pag nagkataon, go with the pang-masa na lang, Innova na lang kahit 4 na kami ng neighbors ko.

Lahat naman tumataas ng presyo eh.... But I have to agree they have to be careful in raising it by too much since direct competitor nito yung Innova.

Then again, there is no official price raise yet diba? Baka naman rumor lang.

i agree, raising the prices now will definitely turn off potential buyers. i hope someone in columbian is reading this. some smart move...

going diesel is an alternative to stave off expenses on driving pero almost all car manufacturers have diesel and similar car designs. carens isn't an exclusive product. there are choices out there. i know the smart boys and girls over at columbian know this. baka lang nakakalimutan nila.

mqavila, no exact word about when...but probably within or before Q4 of this year.

So, that means we won't be affected? Our units will still be under the 3year/110,000kms warranty?

Hmm...guys, any official word on the price increase? It just dawned on me that June 1 will be this Sunday already!
