As for the differences: there are only two variants for the Carens: the LX and the EX (both variants are also offered in gas or CRDi versions)...

Both variants have either a 2.0L CVVT gas engine or a 2.0L CRDi VGT diesel engine (whichever you prefer). Further, both have amenities such as power windows, power door locks, keyless entry, 2-DIN stereo (although the actual model of the HU differs between the EX and the LX), a whole bunch of cupholders, cubbyholes, etc.

The differences:

1. LX has 15" steel rims with hubcaps while EX has 16" alloy wheels
2. EX has foglamps, LX does not
3. EX has roof rails, LX does not
4. LX has color-keyed door handles and side mouldings while EX has chrome door handles and side mouldings
5. LX has black side mirrors while EX has color-keyed side mirrors
6. EX has chrome accents on its front radiator grille while LX does not
7. The upholstery of the seats in both variants are different (not sure how to describe it)
8. EX has driver-side airbags while LX does not

What else did I miss?

9. The 2008 EX has door lock-unlock button on the driver & front passenger side. The 2008 EX also has no lock-unlock when you turn on-off the engine. It does not lock upon reaching 40kph unlike the the 07 model.
10. The 2008 EX foot brake release is on the pedal and not separate. Dont know for the LX.
11. Alarm system is different.
12. Rear storage lamp buttons are different.

Am planning to buy the CRDI EX after almost 1 year of reading the thread here. It's not that ganun ako katagal maconvince but nag-ipon pa kasi hehehe. Anyway help naman po... pwede po ba makahingi tip ano dapat check before accepting the car from casa? kung baga po eh checklist in terms of the standard features of EX and other stuffs. Para pong meron na nagpost nun pero sa sobra haba na ng thread and bagal ng pc ko, tapos na promo ng kia

Our Carens is doing very well in Autofocus... leading the "Minivan" category by a good margin... And, we're slowly closing the gap between the Carens and the Civic for 3rd place in the Automobile of the Year! Keep it up, guys! :D

Finally I will be a Kia Carens Owner in this coming days. Nagkasundo rin kami sa price ng trade-in value ng X-trail ko. :-) Thanks dun sa mga nagbigay ng number.

For those pala that is planning to get a Caren I would highly recommend my SA. Very accomodating and most specially he gave me very low bank interest. I think masmakakamura kayo sa kanya maski domeretso pa kayo sa bank. PM nyo lang ako, I'll be glad to tell you his number. Maski ask nyo lang sya, tignan nyo if he can offer a better package.

I will be getting Carens CRDI AT LX, preferred kong color is Aqua Blue, Fine Silver then Biege. Nagtest drive din ako pero ung MT lakas ng makina, di ko nga lang matest mabuti since matrafic and di na ako masyado sanay magdrive ng manual. I am just waiting for the bank approval.

I have a question sa mga owners specially ung mga LX owners..

1. May nagtrade-in ba ng LX mags to EX mags sa inyo? (15" Steel of LX to 16" Alloy EX)? How much kaya? Or kung hindi naman, may nagtrade ba sa ibang non-casa store? Magkano inabot? I plan to upgrade the tires to 16" kasi.

2. May naginstall ba ng ordinarry roofrails (found in adventure and crosswind)and carrier (smallest) sa inyo? How much po kaya? Walang butas? Okie lang kaya sila?

3. Nagquote sila sakin ng Foglamp almost 8T ata un mayroon naba nito sa Banawe?

May one-stop shop natin for Carens accessories sa Banawe? Name and phone number please kung mayroon.

07 LX CRDI MT White 9K Millage - 800K (Ganda pa! Ito ginamit ko nung nagtest drive ako).
07 Sorento CRDI AT (5seater) 10K Millage - 1.2M
07 Carnival CRDI AT (don't know the details) - 1.2M

The price and details are not too accurate pero definitely ung price lower sa nilagay ko. Pwede pa ata tawadan ehh.

3. Nagquote sila sakin ng Foglamp almost 8T ata un mayroon naba nito sa Banawe? ang fog lamps including installation sa casa is 8k+ hindi less than 8k ang nagpapamahal is the switch that would looks like the EX. as for banawe wala pa sila.

May one-stop shop natin for Carens accessories sa Banawe? Name and phone number please kung mayroon. Gold rich lang ang meron puro chrome garnish lang sila.

Sorry for the late reply. Just got back from boracay. The damage for my tint excluding windshield is 2800 and my windshield cost 1200. pinauna ko kasi yun windshield ko kala ko kasi kaya na ng original tint yung init e. then na decide ko magpatint ulit ng buo coz of the heat. sa karrglas ako nagpagawa sa banawe look for ric bibigyan ka niyan ng big discount.

Can't wait to see your pics of your leather seatcovers bro! How much did it cost?When you had your windows re-tinted, did you have them remove the existing tint? The rear window defogger wasn't damaged naman? That's my main concern if and when I end up re-tinting my upcoming Carens... If I remember correctly, bro itlog na pula posted here that what he simply did was to have them place the new tint on top of the existing tint to avoid the possibility of damaging the defogger...

Pinatong ko lang siya sa existing tint. will post my seat cover after fully finished na siya.
