Thank you for posting this video!!!
It sounds like a V8 (maybe V6) engine, or is it just my imagination?
Ciao!
Uncle Nick.
In America, FORD is an acronym for "Found on road dead" or, if you prefer "Fix or repair daily".
From my experience with Ford in Canada, it is not even remotely comparable to Isuzu for reliability......but, I will admit they are pretty, in a "dumb blonde" sort of way.
That's the way I see it.
I don't worry about you crossing over to Ford from Isuzu. Your usual, most through method of research will ensure that.
Ciao!
Uncle Nick.
As an OUTSIDER LOOKING-IN, i can only presume that Ford Motors is by now a renewed and highly-competitive company under the helm of former Boeing's bright boy, Alan Mullaly....
No one's gonna tell for sure how they are today in a deterministic way unless one gets himself a new generation Ford Ranger that is marketed specifically for Asian road conditions.
Kind regards.
Just an inquiry, has anyone converted their 4x2 to 4x4? Plan ko sana iconvert 2010 DMax ko to 4x4, mga how much kaya aabutin for that spec?
Sir, why the need to convert it to 4x4? Other than you spend more money by doing so (labour and added gear housing, transfer case etc etc) at a recognised shop, you will also be adding effectively 100 kg more into your weight.
Wait for the 2012 3.2-litre Ford Ranger TDCi 4x4 when it arrives here 1st quarter 2012 ;)
Its odometer reading now is 89950 kms. Ganoon ba tlaga kabilis masira ang SCV ? Tingin ko kasi ang minomonitor ng MIL is the SCV of the car. Ano masasabi nyo mga sirs? Mukang humihina ata ang mga bata natin sa isuzu ah....hehe joke lng

Sir, when you brought your truck to the dealer before, what did they do to your SCV, did they replace it? If they did, better return it so they could scan in the computer what's causing the lighting of MIL. Pray that it's not the EGR coz it's more expensive than the SCV. As per my SA, it's 13k something considering Christmas or bankrupt season is just around the corner.hehe If it's the SCV that needs replacing with only 8,500 kms after the first replacement was done, something is really f**ked up with our SCV. Let us know...
Who wants a hugely-discounted Mobil 1 Super-Syn 0W-40 fully synthetic oil for his Isuzu DMax? (only 72 hours remaining to avail of this promo as of this posting)
Only P540 For A 1 Liter Mobil 1 0W-40 Fully Synthetic Motor Oil For Gas And Diesel Engines - Makati (Valued At P900)
Make no mistake about it gentlemen that the 0W-40 oil grade is just an indicative property; real viscosity or weight of oil lies in its kinematic viscosity given in centiStokes (cSt) across different temperatures, as provided in the attached product info.
Mobil 1 0W-40
You may take note of the following:
1. That at 100-deg Celsius it still has a viscosity or thickness of 13.5 cSt, almost just similar to the Motul Specific CRDi 5W-40 fully-synthetic viscosity of 13.9 cSt at that same temperature;
2. The Mobil 1 0W-40 also contains a higher TBN of 11.8 (almost similar to the Delvac 5W-40's TBN of 12.0), better than the fully synthetics Motul Specific CRDi 5W-40 having only 7.4 and better than the Torco SD-5 MPZ of only around 8.0;
3. It also has a higher flash point (resistance to burn) than the Motul oil and the Mobil 1 Delvac 5W-40; and
4. Higher viscosity index (an indicator or a measure of oil's stability NOT changing much across temperature changes - so the higher the index, the more stable is the oil), than any of the oils mentioned here, even better than its more viscous brother, Mobil Delvac 5W-40.
Why i mentioned the other oils and compare them to this Mobil1 0W-40 fully-synthetic? ---- Because alongside the much thinner or less viscous Besco 10W-30 semi-synthetic oil, Isuzu also recommends the Mobil1 Delvac 5W-40, Torco SD-5 MPZ 15W-40, and Motul Specific CRDi 5W-40 among its list of oil. Take note, Isuzu's much beloved in-house oil, the Besco 10W-30, only has a kinematic viscosity of less than 10 cSt at 100-deg Celcius. At 40-deg Celsius, it has only 65 cSt.
Up to you guys to take advantage of the discount ;)
On the other hand, an interesting question-and-answer topic from the tech-guru of TopGear Phils and Speedlab Racing, Mr. Ferman Lao, about turbo-timers for modern-day diesel engines is provided in the link:

tol hindmaxsiado why dont you buy isuzu d-max vgs directly from thailand markmotors thailand can import a bnew isuzu d-max vgs and mu-7 here in the phil you can buy used isuzu d-max vgs yung may hoodscoope or u can also buy a bnew its all ready converted to LHD. Masyado ba mahal pag mag export ng isuzu galing thailand di2 sa pilipinas? you can visit markmotors thailand tol hindmaxsiado for more information. Mukhang malabo yata darating nxt year ang bagong d-max.
Sir metal_rosie, if an individual orders from Thailand, it could entail complete assembly of the steering components, not just a conversion. The work involve for the plant people in Thailand that someone from the Philippines is ordering a BOTIQUE-version left-hand steering DMax iTEQ VGS will entail time- and expertise/labour-cost that i may have to shoulder as well as an added cost. But that is granting if the Thailand plant agrees to this arrangement. Probably, a covenant with Isuzu Philippines is existing that any complete assembly of Isuzu units for the Philippine market should come from the Laguna plant with parts only supplied by the Thailand plant.
Other than this, i also have to be aware of the importation tax of which i had experience with and not willing to waste that money, again. In 2007, i imported a brand-new dirtbike straight from the US, since this model is not being sold here in Philippines.... i paid quite an extra more on top of the upfront ownership-cost even for a recreation-type of vehicle such as the dirtbike. A recreation-type is not road-legal and i only use it in the mountain trails and/or in the motocross race tracks. i use the pickup's carriage to haul this bike through the city to my destination.
Now having said this sir, how much more could it be for a road-legal DMax iTEQ VGS?
i'd rather wait for the all-new 2012 straight-penta cylinder 3.2-litre Ford Ranger TDCi when it arrives here than waste money getting a unit that Isuzu Motors doesn't care about giving to Filipinos. Certainly, anyone who choose this path just to acquire the VGS model is not doing himself any favour.... my opinion only though ;)
