Check mo lang ng maigi, kahit during warming it up sa garahe mo, pa-birit mo lang ang silinyador while you at the back is observing ang nature ng usok....
Ang DMax 3.0 TD Intercooler 4JH1-TC naman namin, so far so good pa rin.... Lagare ito Pangasinan-Bocaue-Quezon City over the last 7 years.
No change in power sir ARB but the fuel consumption increased. Smoke is black. I just had a change oil, replaced all filters (oil, air, fuel) and had the valve clearances checked & adjusted.
I also noticed that the exhaust fumes have a stronger odor lately. I was thinking that maybe there was an exhaust leak but upon inspection at a muffler shop, they didn't find any leakage.
Before this D-Max, ang pick-up ko was a box-type Mitsu L200 4x2, yun ang talagang notorious na smoke belcher.
Hehehehe....

sir, napa vlave adjustment mo na b? hindi naman kailangan yun sir... baka meron lng part bibgay... one hting is the EGR have it checked and have the trubo intercooler checked also baka meron nag crack sa intercooler... posible rin sir yun turbo mo meron na possible na "loss compresion"... but i doubt bibigay agad yun turbo... also have your throttle body cleaned and checked....
Sir, the 4JJ1-TCX is basically a 4JJ1-TC, only that it has a VNT/VGT. The other name for the 4JJ1-TCX engine is actually 4JJ1-TC hi-power. They also just differ in the mounting of the intercooler and the style of the air filter. Ours with the 4JJ1-TC standard is cylindrical.
Nakaka-engganyong tignan noh sir haha!
Meron ako K&N sir at sa Speedlab ko nakuha, PhP5,500. Di pa kasama shampoo at oil spray kit para diyan. Abot ng mga P1,100 yang dalawa. Recommended cleaning interval every 10,000 km.
Look for the part no. E-2023 should you like the real K&N air filter for the DMax 3.0 Ddi-iTEQ and i suggest to source it at car shops along Banaue Avenue.
Tinanggal ko na K&N ko after installing the Racechip Pro. With the Racechip Pro on plus the K&N free-sucking/flowing air filter, lumakas pa sa consumo si DMaxsiado at wild ang power by 2000 rpm and above. i put back the OEM air filter and gives me better translational power onto the wheels, therefore less spins and better traction. Tumipid pa sa crudo hehe with the Racechip Pro and OEM paper-type air filter.
Hindi lang yun sir.... Sa tingin ko sir, kindly correct me if i'm wrong, if the timing-belt is ripped/pulled apart, and say you're overtaking, it's even dangerous ---- will put your car to a sudden stop. Could there be also a siezure? i don't know....
Chances of getting a chain-driven timing mechanism having the potentials to fail like a timing-belt could be low-to-nil.... again, i don't also know....
Look at where the timing mechanism is connected at the top of the engine, to the cams where the valves are also connected to feed fuel and air to the cylinders/pistons and run the whole system.
yes sir, once the timing belt is torn or broken or naputol... tendency is you have to overhaul your engine... mas malaking gastos na naman... kaya sa civic vtec ko dati... pinalitan ko when it reached 70,000kms nalang... hehehehe....
sa chain driven or gear driven system, very unlikely mangyari yun... i have seen fuegos or hilanders who have reached 300,000kms plus and hindi pa nabuksan ang engine or napalitan ng timing gear or chain....
What i particularly like is the intercooler hood scoops.
Well I guess I prefer a balanced look.
OT: I've read somewhere that FMIC is better than TMIC or SMIC. What's your take on this?
Fasten your seatbelt! Or else...Driven To Thrill!
+2 Sir Ry and -2 as well ahoho!
Aesthetic-wise, yes the hood scoop of the DMax VGS Turbo is a real go-gether.... BUT, given the condition in our Metro Manila traffic, when at standtill say caught inside a heavy traffic, the radiant heat from the engine is directly going up towards the top-mounted intercooler. Those living in the provinces wouldn't even mind the top-mounted one.... They would love how their DMax VGS Turbo looks like ;)
i might still choose a DMax VGS Turbo with the intercooler at the aft-grille just like our current 3.0 Ddi-iTEQ mounting.
....But dang! That bonnet scoop is really really nice. Exactly, i still don't know why i really love it so much that it should be a top-mounted intercooler haha
