Just so you know fellow Isuzu afficionados....
The DMax Ddi-iTEQ will even be more in serious trouble when the inevitable comes....

Now i understand more-and-more why Isuzu Phils isn't serious in upgrading its fleet ---- well, obviously, it can't compete even if it brings here the DMax VGS turbo tsk tsk tsk, and even the all-new Isuzu RT-50 pickup....

i might just change lane by next year hehe, or even from hereon ---- so much about Isuzu product-loyalty over the years if there isn't any devotion reciprocated to its Pinoy customers anyhow.... Isuzu Phils. wouldn't care anyway, knowing how "sure-footed" they are according to them hehe....

Just thinking out loud, what if someone/some shop imports a 4JJ1-TCX engine & related apps, can the tuner shops like Speedlab install it into the PHDM D-Max? Hmm...

Sir, a fine gentleman from Isuzu Phils. told me that there is serious plan at the moment to bring the DMax 4JJ1-TCX (or, otherwise known as the 4JJ1-TC hi-power) in the Philippines. BUT, he could not disclose further details about it as he's observing the company's confidentiality about product life ---- i just had to respect him and take his word for it, you know

But, if you look into Ford Philippines, however, it's announced OUT-LOUD! Darating si pareng 2012 all-new Ford Ranger Wildtrak sa Pinas! And that is how sure, confident, and bullish Ford is in the Philippine theater haha!

One thing one would really like about Ford is that IT GIVES WHAT PEOPLE WANT, AND IT GIVES THE BEST, WITHOUT EVEN ASKING NOR PETITIONING FOR IT! A company-consumer relationship should be based on that as it foster satisfaction, contentment and it BUILDS TRUST!
....Something that we Isuzu loyalists haven't seen in ages about Isuzu Phils., apart from the fact that Isuzu's are JUST known to be durable and dependable, nothing more.... i'm also thinking out-loud now, and kindly excuse me for venting my frustrations, which somehow i think it's reasonable.... Those 3.0-litre diesel CRDi, DOHC, and at the same time ALL CAST-IN PLACE ALUMINIUM ENGINES, with variable geometry turbos were actually originated by Isuzu Japan SINCE 2001, and yet they only exported them to Europe, by-passing us Southeast Asians (except the Thais) over the last 10 years!!!! But then again, please excuse me....

Given the scenario now, why spend more time-and-effort importing an Isuzu 4JJ1-TCX engine if Ford could actually introduce the all-new Ranger fleet and at the same time is able to get a tax holiday under the reason that it's introducing a new technology to the Philippine-consumers JUST LIKE what Mitsubishi Philippines has done so that's why its fleet of current Strada, and Montysport GTV's are cheaper these days than the other Japanese car companies. The actions of Mitsubishi in the Philippine market is actually commendable ---- they give what us Pinoy consumers want, and they offer it at cheaper price! You can't blame Mitsu why the Monterosport is the country's best-selling SUV these days bumping out the Fortuner at the top spot.

Same thing should also be done so by Isuzu Phils. when the 2006 engine model 4JJ1-TCX comes here since Isuzu may arguably qualify it as a new technology for us Pinoy buyers, and secure a tax holiday for it. This way, those who want to own this "new" DMax will not pay more just because it is equipped with a VGT/ VNT and thus is more powerful and torquier across the powerband.

Sir, kindly just read my preceding comments.

Just a background na rin sir, our current 4JJ1-TC 3.0 Ddi-iTEQ engine is a 2004 Isuzu design. The 2006 model 4JJ1-TCX engine is the slightly-improved version of the 4JJ1-TC with the incorporation of the variable geometry turbo (Isuzu referes to it as variable vane turbocharger, or loosely as variable geometry system that's why it carries the emblem 3.0 iTEQ VGS Turbo)

By paper, stock rating are as follows:

    1. 3.0 DMax 4JJ1-TC - 146 metric-hp at 3800 rpm, 294 Nm peak torque from 1400 rpm to 3400 rpm (with a slightly better exhaust just like that of the Alterra, it makes 315 Nm peak torque)

    2. 3.0 DMax 4JJ1-TCX, or 4JJ1-TC hi-power - 163 metric-hp at 3600 rpm, 360 Nm peak torque from 1800 rpm to 2800 rpm

Oh, I didn't know about this piece of info. I was under the impression that IPC had decided with finality that they won't bring the 4JJ1-TCX to our shores. Well, if that's the case I'll be in waiting mode.

this is a 2012 Chevrolet Colorado, not an Isuzu DMAX... Chevy will not colaborate with Isuzu anymore since GM has sold its shares on Isuzu to Toyota... so kanya kanyang model design na sila, no more rebadging...

Sir, i don't quite believe this spy photo as it looks like more of the all-new 2.8-litre Chevy Colorado that will also hit Thailand this 2012. This is yet also another UTE to wait amongst Pinoy Chevrolet-GM enthusiasts, as it may also come in Philippines this 2012. The powertrain on this all-new pickup was developed by VM Motori of Italy.

All that a Thai-contact told me is that there is now an all-new 3.0-litre Isuzu RT-50 pickup that is also scheduled to be released in Thailand this 2012. The stock-engine on this one makes over 180 hp, and perhaps it produces torque in the order of plus 400's Nm. Moreover, the new engine will also be plugged onto the Thai's Alterra, the MU-7, for 2012.

Amongst all us southeast Asians, the Thais get all the best and the latest while the rest get all the crap Isuzu's ---- like i said in the preceding pages of this thread, if the DMax iTEQ VGS Turbo 4JJ1-TCX would still not be here by 2012, we Pinoys are by now 2nd-generations behind what Isuzu is offering in the land of Siam....

And then they say that comparisons are "odious" ---- Well, i say, they AIN'T when you're seeing that our old Philippine DMax's and Alterra's are costing more than the VGT-equipped Philippine-issue Mitsu Strada/ Monterosport, Ford Ranger/ Everest, and Mazda BT-50, and just about the same as the 3.0-litre Toyota Hilux/ Fortuner with the excellent 1KD-FTV engine that Toyota is also using for its high-end SUV, the Toyota Prado.

Those DMax iTEQ VGS turbos are a thing of beauty to behold, i tell yah! That hood-scoop is the real go-gether aesthetically-speaking
    ;)

These are one of the utility pickups we're supplied with when i was working in Spain way back 2008 until early 2010, together with the Toyota Hilux's and Nissan Navara's (the two are similar to our Philippine-issue Hilux's and Nav's).... And i have driven them on a daily-basis....

i have no doubt about how they look and their stellar performances as pickups. In fact, i think, they are the best midsize 4x4 pickups in the market.... This is also the reason why i've been so VOCAL about why Isuzu Phils. doesn't bring them here.... Guaranteed, they will sell like Jollibee amongst us Pinoys! ....Given the fact that the Philippines is also an Isuzu country, this better DMax will definitely out-sell the current Pinoy DMax Ddi-iTEQ even when this one is exclusively offered only as the high-end Boondock series....

....AND i always get into trouble in this very Isuzu forum because of my rhetoric and fascination about them and my rantings why Isuzu Phils. doesn't seem to care about giving its best to Pinoy Isuzu afficionados.... when it should and it could....

    Mga bros,

I have 2005 dmax LS AT. May i ask about my front disk brake pads. The indicator noise is now present.

    1. What is the best brand?
    2. Where can they be bought, best price?
    3. where to have it installed?

    Salamat po...
