Santa Fe is definitely wider than the Fortuner... heck its almost as wide as an Expedition(width 1999mm). 2cm wider lang ang exped.

same here...was initially hesitant to get sta fe...was thinking of getting fortuner...every person i ask tells me to buy fortuner because its a toyota...on the other hand, those who tell me to buy sta fe are those who says the ride is really much better. So I figured, those who buy fortuner seems to be buying for the wrong reason....thats why i ended up buying sta fe...1 week already...no regrets...ride is great! no idea yet on mileage...frist full tank...so far 360Km wid half tank to go...will update you as soon as i fill her up again...

Yeah, my friend is also getting a Fortuner just because it's a Toyota. Has never ridden or driven one yet. Tanggal na sa list niya Sorento, Tucson, Santa Fe, Montero Sport, etc. dahil 'hindi Toyota'.

Lakas talaga ng logo power. hehehe.

hehehe Well, toyota worked hard and smart for a long time to achieve the brand status they have right now. I think #2 na ata sila overall behind GM?

Maybe as hyundai offers more cars like the sta fe and keeps up the current work they've done, AND as more buyers become smarter in choosing cars... someday hyundai may have the same brand status as toyota. who knows?

Hyundai i think is doing their best to satisfy us. As of now, only Hyundai cars called me up personally to ask if i was satisfied with the periodic check up they did. looks like their really pushin...

Ok guys here is my initial mileage on gas.. (er Diesel).. was able to use the car just in the city and with a big tank like that i takes forever to finish up. anyways with city driving light- moderate to sometime heavy traffic i hit 8.2km/l not bad (though am a bit heavy on the pedal sometimes). then took it out of town but still have to load up later to find out my consumption with the highway mileage. Well the car hit the 1000km mark and will be serviced soon. As for the power batangas goin up to tagaytay pushed the car going UPHILL. Hit 140 easy.. with four adults and 2 kids and one full left side(jump seat down) white smoke a little bit when high rev on 3rd and 4th but no worries.. but man the car is fast. wifey got alittle bit tense since it was raining a little bit. But fast....

Chuaa -- So you finally went for the santy!!! congrats!!! you'll love it. specially the ride against the fort... what variant did you get and color.

my friends saw the car and loved it. Now he was getting a new car was thinking of the escape, mazda thats below 1m. but when he saw the car went to hyundai and now thinking of the tucson. I really think that hyundai is underrated people should just try them out for themselves.

test drove the santa fe last friday. Im very impressed with the ride. Parang xtrail. I noticed the multi matic isnt that responsive pag shift mo. Accelaration is not bad for a diesel engine. Alot better than my old pajero

One thing i can say about it is, ang sarap nyang i-drive. hehe. Lalo pag floor mo sya, the G-Force is very strong. hehe

BTW, before 1000KM, you should run it NOT beyond 85kph as stated in the manual.

yes sir we have the same color. thanks for the tip sa 85kph, buti na lang d ko pa hinahataw. dala ko today sa work.

    got the red color...crdi...

btw....based on the manual...it says that noformal break in is required....i dont recall seeing that you should not run it beyond 85kph...from what i know, whats more important is that you do not over rev the engine...i think it says something like you should not go beyond 3000 rpm...and that you should not maintain constant speed/rpm for too long....

i remember a post at rav4 oz , the fortuner wasn't sold in australia because it will eat up into the market share of the toyota kluger (aka Toyota highlander in the US).
