bongsac -- the minute i got my car i changed mine to HID's.. old blue as for standard specs dapat HID's but they took it out here. I asked regarding warranty with erod they said it will get voided but someone here earlier said that i think c5 or shaw said daw na hindi. i spoke to one of the HID installers that does toyota's HID they actually got one from a hyundai dealer from pampanga i think. dealer mismo nagpakabit. up to you though.... yung hid's naman for the santafe is plug and play lang...

the sta fe is a looker. countless times ko na na-experience ito while traversing a two/four-lane road, cars from the opposite lane would roll down their windows just to get a good view of this car. probably bec. very rare pa sa kalsada

Hyundai Santa Fe sets economy pace on diesel

    Press Release: Hyundai

Hyundai Santa Fe sets economy pace on diesel

The new Hyundai Santa Fe is proving to be a fuel economy champion among lifestyle four-wheel-drive models.

In an independent fuel economy test conducted recently by New Zealand motoring journalist Donn Anderson, the new generation Santa Fe 2.2 CRDi diesel averaged 5.95 litres/100 km (47.44 miles per gallon).

With this result, the Santa Fe is able to complete 1,256 kilometres on the 75-litre fuel tank, an outstanding result for a roomy, 4,650mm long five-door Sport Utility Vehicle weighing 1,823 kg.

The test was carried out in "real life" conditions that included town, city, rural roads and motorway driving.

Anderson, who is currently working in Britain, completed the test in southern England where he endeavoured to match the driving conditions to those in New Zealand.

"The result certainly dispels the argument that all four-wheel-drives are thirsty and underlined the advances and excellent fuel economy of the latest diesel engines," he said.

The new Santa Fe CRDi is powered by an in-line, four-cylinder, single overhead camshaft 2.2-litre common rail diesel engine.

It uses Hyundai's cutting edge variable geometry turbocharger for smooth power delivery, strong fuel economy and fine all-round performance.

Hyundai focused on reducing friction wherever possible to raise engine efficiency and smoothness, achieving significant advances by including a new low friction balancer shaft.

The 110 kW engine produces a massive 335 Nm of torque between 1,800 rpm and 2,500 rpm.

"Significantly, the engine is doing around 2,000 revs at 100 km/h in top gear," said Anderson. "Peak torque is achieved at this engine speed resulting in the Santa Fe running efficiently while being responsive and flexible at our open road speed limit."

The test result over an extended distance bettered the official European extra urban fuel test average of 6.0 litres/100 km (47.1 miles per gallon), and the combined test average of 7.3 litres/100 km (38.7 miles per gallon).

Three versions of the new generation Hyundai Santa Fe CRDi diesel are available in New Zealand, with prices starting from $47,990 to $54,990 for the 2.2 CRDi Elite, which is the strongest selling model after two months on sale in New Zealand. The Santa Fe has exceeded sales expectations in its first two months with just under 200 sales, a great result for Hyundai's newest model.

bongsac--- mas pogi noh... actually i'm still trying to figure out the bulb for the fog lights. do you have an idea what model our fog light bulb is kasi when i had the HIDs put on they did not have for the fog lights now i'm researching on this. head up naman if you know the bulb model. off kasi yung yellow( i mean stnd halogen) foglights with the HID but for the bright (high beam) perfect yung halogen. that really comes in handy specially rain and long distance driving. as for the parklight. have not decided yet. i still like it so far. but i have extra bright whites maybe i should try changing it. i know in the US they put amber on it. oh by the way how much was your stepboard. erod is selling it for 21k.

Dinan--for the foglamps, i checked in the manual and it stated a 27watt halogen. geez first time ko nakarinig nun. baka pang bike. anyways as it is clear to see at the front i think it looks like an H1 bulb. i-compare ko rin muna sa H1 bulb sa ibang car.. yup same price yung stepbord..sa casa ko pinakabit kasabay na ng pag release. it really looks more macho with it.. well yung 6watts parklite bulb, di rin typical. to find colored bulb; super white or amber, baka mahirap din. let me now too if u happen to find one..

btw parang may Dinan din dun sa kabilang forum, BMW car club.

yung headlights ng santa fe hindi ba nabubuksan kung hindi naka-start yung kotse?

i visited one dealer, i tried to open the lights, pero hanggang park lights lang. ganun ba talaga?

in another dealer naman, when i test drove the CRDI, hindi nagwo-work yung speedometer, sabi nila they removed the wire connected to it. Is this true? display unit nila ito. Also if i remember correctly there is a "Rear A/C" button below the headunit, hindi ba talaga umiilaw ito when pressed? pero yung defogger button ok naman.

do they (dealer) really disconnect some wirings while on display? or quality issues kaya ito?

yup..headlights won't operate on engine off...rear A/C won't light-up too when switch is off from the rear control.

with the speedo's that i dont know...obviously ayaw nila madagdagan mileage nung unit if that's d case.

Reminds me of a Vios I tested from a toyota dealer. They had the odo disconnected. I asked why that was so, the agent who accompanied me in the test replied "secretly" there was an owner already of the unit, and they did not have any test unit available at that time. Somehow I felt guilty testing the unit.

well bongsac. thats my problem. still trying to fifure out the exact specs of the bulb. let you know when i get a chance to change it. let me know also if it is H1 since you will be trying to compare it to others. As for the Dinan name.. dont know about that... in the BMW car club. Dinan is actually an american company that specializes in BMW tuning..

Yep. All newer Korean vehicles are like this. I think Korean legislation dictates it to be this way.

actually it kinda makes sense to force your headlamps / foglamps off when the engine is off or the key is not inserted. para naman idiot-proof at hindi ka maubusan ng battery in case you did forget to turn them off

Idiot-proof din yung ACC mode ng SantaFe when its engine is off. It automatically cuts off electricity when it reaches critical current limit - to enable you to start and recharge the batt.

Have you guys noticed that the Footbrake's "bite" isn't as strong as a typical Handbrake?

sabi nga nila..fortuner looks astig...while fe si ***IER!

btw, im still getting 10-11 km/l mixed. palagay ko sa pure nlex kaya 15-17.
