So far problem free naman yung GS ko (knock on wood!)mas madami pa nga ako naging issues sa other brands like toyota and ford. This goes to show na kahit ano pang brand nabili mo pwede kang matsambahan.
exactly. Neither toyota, honda, hyundai, kia even those euro ones, hindi guarantee na wala kang sakit ng ulo kahit brand new.

Sir bratski, sa dasma when I purchased my unit, I asked this engine knock kung paano naresolve. Sabi nung taga Hyundai eh nag reset "daw" sila ng ecu and advised owner to use higher octane gas. na solve naman daw. since naka higher octane ka na, baka kailangan mo na ng ecu reset? just a suggestion lang bro.

Hindi ata talagang "issue" yung bottom out sa suspension. It's a trade-off for getting a softer ride (rare find in it's class). My honda civic 2007 had defective tensioner after 1 year.

I read few reviews of the accent released outside PH. Some US reviews find the USDM accent comofortable enough as it is tuned softer to have that softness/gentleness feeling. Of course these our US Specced cars, kaya di rin cguro natin mabenchmark with the PHDM accents.

Maybe its a trade off to make it more gentle. Our sta. fe also has this characteristic. Sobrang soft ng suspension configuration, and talagang noticeable siya esp. on high cruising speed. Parang yong feeling me you are on a high speed yacht...

    Heheheheeh...

-issues from my accent so far

    1. engine fuel knock (solved it by using shell unleaded *my opinion only)
    2. rear shocks are too soft (sumasayad sa humps pag fully loaded)
    3. door handles are sticky, parang naiiwan when pulled all the way out.
    4. alarm shock sensor triggers by itself (crazy alarm)
    5. no built-in clock (which I think is very important)
    6. engine dieseling sound in the morning. it becomes better after a few minutes.
    7. water easily enters the engine bay during washing. pag bukas ng hood basa agad cover nung fuse box, air filter cover, back side of head lights, water stays at the side of the above mentioned areas and most notably sa mga wires nung head lights (i find this very alarming).
    8. material used for the fuel cover parang plastic. i have to personally open the fuel cover and remove the fuel cap when refueling in fear that gas boys are careless enough to break it.

The importance of a clock depends on the owner itself. If he isn't used to wearing wrist watches, then the clock will be definitely important for him. However, rubbing it in to other owners is a different thing. If I would know, people wouldn't want every single flaw to be released or talked about blatantly. Potah pati clock ginawang issue eh ... The bottoming issue, knocking sound is okay since those can be considered by some as " bad " but then, exaggerating it to the fact that you're sure the prospective buyer would say no is not commendable.

As for you, sir black ice, please do play fair. Each car has their own cons. When sharing your insights to prospective buyers/friends of yours, don't just step on the Accent just because you do not own a Hyundai, but, if needed step on the Vios too. Share their cons as well as their pros, then explain which would be more practical.

I myself is impressed about the Vios' practicality. However, if I should state some things that I don't like, I might just hurt the feelings of owners, including you.

Some of them are the ff :

    1. Cheap interior
    2. Center-positioned instrument panel ( ?? really? )

... and other stuff like that.

just like what other Accent owners mentioned these issues are considered as an isolated case. I for one never had any of these issues except of course with the soft rear suspension which i believe is not an issue and more of how the car was designed. If i may ask sir, lets say i haven't bought an Accent yet and i'm looking for a car.. what would you suggest me to buy? just curious kung ano ung mga suggestions nyo.

Yup, the Accent's suspension is on the soft side as I have said parang bus .

I remember riding a Chevrolet Caprice dito sa Kuwait, kahit na harurot ng harurot yung driver sa rough road, you would not feel any road imperfections, dahil aalog alog lang yung Caprice. Same thing dun sa Sonata 95' namin before ang lambot din ng suspension.

On the safety side aspect di natin masasabi if it is really an issue, since no studied data is available for us here sa Pinas. We are stating na malambot ang suspension, maybe because no sub compact car yet sa Pinas had this kind of soft suspension before.

Others they may find it ok (same with my Accent owner classmate sa Pampanga), as for others a big issue naman...

For me the soft suspension is really bothersome. Kaya when i have more than 2 passengers hindi ko na siya ginagamit. Problem ko lang is when negotiating humps, at speeds more than 10kph sigurado tatama bump stops pag rebound ng rear suspension, kahit pa ang sakay ko at the back yung 2 yr old daughter ko and payat na yaya na wala pang 100lbs.
After a few days of driving with petron xcs, halos hindi ko na marinig yung engine knock, nawala narin yung biglang jerk ng transmission.

I don't know how you define issue. But for me, it is something wrong that you did not expect. Having no clock should not be an issue because you should've noticed it before you bought the car. If it really is bothering you, then shouldnt have bought it in the first place. I didn't know people are that dumb these days...

If ever magdecide ako to get the Accent, hopefully I will be vindicated.

Ayos na yung wipers ko after replacing mine with other s920 stocks from sir xenon optics of tsikot. Cheaper than nwb banana wipers but almost same looks but lets see if the performance wil last long. Soft suspension din napansin ko sa accent ko when i had four passengers once, tumama yung ilalim ko sa humps. But it does not bother me much since dalawa lang naman kami madalas sa car. Did not experienced the knocking issue, i always use caltex gold. My fc is improving, now 11-13km/l at moderate to heavy manila traffic. Did not thought of the clock as an issue either. Overall, im satisfied.
