*bonnadictus, to give you a heads up
stock ecu firmware- confirmed majority may engine knock

Euro version 1-addresses knocking issue but causes very low power.

Euro2- in between stock programming and version 1. May sometimes cause slight knocking on poor grade fuel. Power is a little but less than standard program but knocks less or none at all.

    Euro 3-tsismis palang

Euro4- ginagago ka na ng sales rep mo.

Ako iisa nalang issue ko. Malakas sa gas. Talaga yatang hanggang 6km/l nalang ito city driving. nagpa fillup ako ng petron unleaded and looks like bababa pa lalu average fc ko. Mukhang mag 5plus km/l lang ako dito.if based sa trip computer.

guys, may nadiscover ako sa driving habit ng accent. i think this is the delay/timing problem.
you need to late release the clutch pedal after you manual stick to rev up the engine on 1st and 2nd gear. kung baga timpla timpla with gas before you press the gas fully.

please dont be upset. i have accent too. para saken lang naman this car is such a failure. wag na sana tayo magbolahan sa mga kotse natin.the company must admit kailangan na talaga ng recall. its been more than a year when they release the all new hyundai accent and yet still no long term solution for the engine knocking problem.low power, high fuel consumption.kung pwede lang i suggest sana i change engine na lang from 1.4 to 1.6.

pasensya na kayo guys i can only say this para naman matauhan ang hyundai and HARI na gumawa ng rearrangement tungkol sa problema natin sa kanila... peace..

i use shell unleaded so far so good never try though the premium and v-power

pag sobra traffic mga 9kl/l siguro worse fc ko. usually i never stay in 1st gear in a traffic pag alam kong kaya ng ipasok ng 2nd gear pinapasok kona. iba kasi free whelling ng higher gearing, malayo na matatakbo mo in idle mode pero pag primera matigas manakbo in idle mapapa taas ka ng rev para umusad talaga.

Hayy goodluck in doing that here sa Pilipinas. Ang original ecu can only be upgraded once. Dapat stock programming then euro 2 agad. It solved my almost yearlong problem ng knocking and low power.
Pero easier said than done yung pag replace ng ecu dahil dadaan kayo sa butas ng karayom bago mapalitan yan.

my 1.6 accent is almost two months now, kilometer reading is under 1700kms. i don't have any problems with gas consumption. neither engine knock. what bothers me is, the blower of the A/C. it changes speed. biglang lalakas or biglang hihina. another issue for me is when all accessories are on, (headlights, radio, A/C), when you turn your signal light, the whole instrument panel lights will also blink slightly.

I called a Hyundai dealer at pasig today, asked about the knocking issue, if ever I buy one, and "knocking" happens, they would replace the ECU, (no questions asked daw). and as of January they had no complaints regarding this issue, he also stated that they've already changed the ECU's of new Accents.

I visited the dealer earlier today, they are not going to replace the ECU pala, they're just gonna re-program it... Are there any other problems that may arise after re-programming?
