Go for good halogen bulbs or retrofitting.
Yung HID sa H4 type, walang kinabukasan yan. Been there, done that.

Masyadong mataas ka magpalit ng gear, on normal driving pwede na yung 1st 20 2nd 40 3rd 60 and 4th 80 and above. For me useless yung manual mode niya kasi hindi parin complete control ko. Kusang nag downshift and ayaw mag upshift pag kulang sa speed. I usually leave it at auto mode most of the time

Racer na racer a... anyways, the minimum allowable for you to shift to a higher gear is somewhere around the following figures:
1st gear - default
2nd gear - even at 0 km/hr pwede (bug I think?)
3rd gear - after 20 km/hr
4th gear - after around 55 km/hr
I know the minimum because it appears to be more economical (don't take my word for it though) fuel consumption wise to shift to manual mode. For overtaking, I find DRIVE mode sufficient enough. If hindi pa naman nagre-redline diyan sa 2nd gear pa rin at 60-80 km/hr at past break-in period ka na it should be safe.

I think most manumatics wouldn't allow down-shifts or up-shifts when the RPM is too low and may cause the engine to stall. That's my experience with our vehicles with manual overrides anyways.
Just remembered: regarding the sudden jerk on U-turns, di ko pa nae-experience while making the U-turn, but I did experience it during an overtake. If you step on the accelerator too hard the car seems to down-shift aggressively, making that sudden shift shock (aka iyong jerking na na-mention before). Wa-poise nga, pero it can be circumvented by going manual, or just learning to overtake without being too abusive on the pedal.
Safety-wise, na-intrigue din ako as to why you'd suddenly step heavy on the accelerator while making a U-turn. While on the apex of the turn, especially that of a U-turn, would it really be natural to step heavy on the gas? Don't get me wrong, hindi ko kasi gawain iyon (nakakahilo pati sa mga pasahero), but common practice ba sa iba 'to? If so, I guess mas accident-prone iyong practice over the car's behavior in itself.
