    reading the threads about the different issues of the accent, i can't blame mexophilia for giving out those statements. ako rin naman, if magkakaproblema kotse ko na ang mahal mahal, baka nagwawala na rin ako. intindihin na lang natin. i'm sure pag maayos na mga problema with his hyundai, mag iiba ang ihip.

    though i do not believe na lahat ng hyundai line up may problema...kasi car of the year ang elantra sa north america.

    We can't blame people if they already had enough of one car brand. The money used to purchase that specific vehicle was hard-earned, not taken from someone. If I were in their places (thankfully I'm not) I'd do the same -- bash HARI over and over again. So I completely understand their thoughts and hardships they're going through.

    However, I guess encouraging people to stay away from that specific brand is already too much. Probably just share your problems with people and tell them to stay away from that specific car model and tell that having other car models from the same car make is perfectly fine because of its "clean" reputation so far. It's pretty harsh for HARI to be told by someone that all their car models share major problems especially if these weren't proven yet.

    Mexo, care to share the problems that other Hyundai models have excluding the Accent?

    I believe though that HARI should already take a look about this Accent issue and address to the owners what are the right things to do to make their monies worth and not just shut up and keep the owners waiting for nothing.

    1. Bratski/1.4 a/t/ May 2011- knocking since 2 weeks after purchase until Oct 2011 when i had an ecu update

    1. erj22 / 1.4L / MT / Sept 2011 (with slight power delay, but not bothering)
    2. andretti / 1.4L / MT / Apr.2011 (no issues - lakas nga hatak)
    3. Bratski /1.4 a/t/ May 2011- no knocking whatsoever from Oct 2011 to present, but suffers from extreme low power and unresponsiveness of the engine specially at low rpms. Almost got involved in an accident because of this

    O ayan nandyan ako sa parehong scenario, hindi ko alam kung maiiyak ba ako o ano. Mag iisang taon na accent ko pero 2k palang mileage because hindi ko magamit, dahil pag ginamit ko parang hindi nako makakauwi ng buhay.

    Hi mga ser! I am an accent owner 1.4 M/T and i got my unit last may 14 2011 pa, I had it for graduation gift I had been busy for the past 6 months sa pagrereview sa board exams and I just learned about this engine knocking issue.

    Mga ser mejo mahaba na kasi ung thread eh ang hirap mag backread, ask ko lang sana kung pano ba nadedetect ung engine knocking? wala kasi ako alam first car ko si accent.. thanks in advance BTW kukunin ko pala ang accent ko ngayon sa Casa nag pa PMS ako for 5km. Na takot tuloy ako kasi 5km na tumatakbo si accent d ko pa napapansin ung engine knocking issue. again thanks!

    Update lang, yesterday tumawag na SA ko sa hyundai erod and may bagong update daw sila ng ecu, version 3 na daw ito at may unit na silang na update last week and so far ok naman daw. So i decided to go for it (well what choice do i have di ba?). Pinadala ko sa casa kanina for the ecu update and so far ang feedback sakin ng driver ko bumalik na responsiveness ng engine. I'll have to test for myself kung totoo nga and crossing my fingers na sana ito na nga ang solution. The past 2 ecu upates kasi nag revert uli sa low power after a few days use lang.

Pero mayron ako naririnig na parang "katok" pag nsa 1st-2nd gear ako, it usually happens kapag rinerelease ko ung gas pedal. patulong naman po gs2 ko ksi ma confirm if engine knock nga ung napapansin ko para maireklamo ko po sa Casa

    I guess MT unit niyo? try to let the casa check your velocity joint, some of us experienced this as well at na ayos naman ng casa.
    Di yan knocking since yung sound is after releasing the gas pedal. HTH

    Depende. Kung kumakatok na nasa 1.5-2k RPM at nakarelease ang clutch, may problema. Pero kung nasa 1RPM lang naman at depressed ang clutch lalo sa trapik, baka nabibitin ka lang sa tapak ng silinyador..

    sir bratski, with all the stress that you've got, and the time you've spent to have this issue resolved, sana nga ito na maging solution....

    Oo nga eh. Kaya hindi ko rin masimulan ang mods dahil sa stress ko. Kung pwede lang idemanda ang stress na nakuha ko dito.... Anyway eto na update. Ginamit ko accent kanina, ayus ok na, totally nawala low power. Very responsive na yung input sa accelerator pedal, pero.......
    After driving in traffic for about 30 mins, bumalik ang dati kong problema, KNOCKING!!!!! hindi naman siya kasing lakas ng knock before ma updatr ecu. Pero audible and intermittent. Malamang dahil 93 octane lang gas na kinarga ko. Kasi nung low power kahit 93 octane walang knock. Pag nakapag karga nako ng 95 octane mag update uli ako.

    kaya ako, basta hindi ko kabisado yong gas station, I'd fill up 95+ ron. minsan kasi, di natin alam quality ng storage tanks nila.

    Yung gas naman na kinarga ko sa trusted petron station. Suki ko na yung station na yun and dyan naka p.o. company ko.

    hahaha p*t*%!#* !! wala ako masabe sa accent mo sir at sa dealer mo! me version 3 pa sila nalalaman e paulit ulit lang naman ata ang ginagawa nila hahaha! grabe iparefund mo na yan accent mo kung ayaw demanda mo na.

    Iba ata itong version, may knock siya pero sorang hina. If not paying attention hindi mapapansin. Nagkataon lang na oc ako. Yung unang 2 version talagang ayaw mag knock pero nag low power. Subukan kong mag 95 octane on my next gas up. Pag hindi nawala knocking replacement or refund na dedemand ko.

    Yung kay mexophilia nga napalitan na ecu niya pero nag knock parin.

    Buti nga yang casa na yan may alam pang ECU "version 3", e yung napagtanungan ko sa Hyundai Pampanga e walang alam kahit na ano mang update, version 3 pa kaya... dito palang makikita mo na na walang common updates or even circulars from HARI about the issue.

    OT: where can i buy crystal white car paint for my hyundai accent? Nagkaron kasi ng scratches nung nabump sya sa kahoy na may pako. Maliit lang pero malalim. I will just use it for patching those scratches. Thanks!
