Parang mas bagay kasi yung lumang silver na linabas nila compared sa hypermetallic grey (which is, as the color suggests, more of greyish) ngayon.

On the sonata HG looks good, pero di ko sure on the GS.

Actually yung puti din kasi, parang hindi parang pearl white din eh.

Kapag PW, baka pwede pa

Edit: Anything we can do regarding the brake rotor issue?

Also, any other common flaws to look out for?

our GS has the "thug sound" underneath, though its intermittent, when shifting from P to D or R. Or sometimes going up on a rump. Maybe the transfer of power from tranny to differential, Well meron din naman sa montero ng friend ko, kaya di ganun ka big deal sakin, pero its irritating, wag na lang pansinin
Sama mo pa yung maingay sa front suspension pag nalulubak, intermittent din to... lakasan mo na lang sound para di mo marinig
Yun mabaho nyang usok, normal lang yun. At least not black or white.

Hehe, yung A/T na Civic namin ata may tunog din when shifting. Naririnig siya particularly when the door is open and you can hear the outside sounds - so PERHAPS normal yan for some A/T cars.

Well re: sa usok, diesel eh. I'd suppose ok na rin nga.

Trying to fully convince myself that the GS is so much better compared to the Hiace. Lumang grandia kasi papalitan namin ito eh. In its 11 years of service, no major major problems naman

Hindi PW ang Grand Starex. Alam ko Clear white lang yun.

Sa color names, Hyper Metallic lang yung name, hindi "Hyper Metallic Gray".

yung thug sound malupit sa GS natin sir. madami na kami napagdaanan na AT cars pero eto pinakamalakas lalo na from P to R. kala mo nasira mo tranny.haha pero sanay na din ako kasi yung trooper namin malakas din ang thug at sabayan mo pa ng "eeeeek" ng brakes. completely normal though.

re:suspension
pag nagpalit ka ng bendix ay malaki ang mawawala sa kalampag. okay naman performance nya.

May isa akong baldeng kerosene na inimbak sa bahay, para pantanggal ng mga pesteng alkitran na walang magawang mabuti kundi dumikit sa sasakyan...

OT:Less than 10TKm pa lang ang natatakbo nito at palaging nasa ilalim ng bubong... Pero, nakarating na ito as far as Bolinao up north (through 8Km of 4x4 dirt trail- because I trusted roadguideph's map so much), and Atimonan down south....

Confirmed with 2 of my friends who both own local GS and rode my HVX na matagtag talaga ng di hamak ang local GS. They also checked on the part numbers of the shocks and magkaiba nga talaga.

Ugali kasi ng Koreans, dinadaya nila yung mga kasama sa General Region.

Sa kanila, Grand Starex talaga ang name.

Yung sa akin, Hyundai H1 lang na rebadged to Grand Starex.

my opinion in the matter is that i think the Local GS .. is a generic version of the GS.. which in other countries is used as a panel van.. this could be the reason for the harsh ride.. while the KDM versions are made for passengers talaga from the very start.. but i could be wrong.. because the panel van variant that is available in australia come with rear leaf springs..

My friends also commented on the softness of the seats of grey market units, mas malambot din ang seats compared sa local units.

Medyo sablay lang yung GPS and headunit.

Sobrang hirap makakuha ng signal yung GPS, and sobrang bagal magsearch ng POI.

Yung HU naman, typical china unit ang interface. Planning to replace the HU with a Kenwood unit with built in Garmin GPS.

Typically nga pangit ang OEM nito....

Separate unit ang GPS, which is placed on the storage tray on top of the dashboard.

Wala din kasing auto-dimming yung kasamang HU when you turn on the headlights. Sobrang liwanag ng screen at night.

^^^ Okay,- adjunct pala ang GPS,- siguro ito iyong mga 4.3-inch na GPS display...

Experience ko,- pangit ang HU ng Starex,- kaya palit kaagad ako nito.... Iba na kaagad ang dagundong ng speakers after that....
