Another thing I noticed on HARI units Grand Starex is that there is this really ugly roof mounted antenna which looks like a sore thumb thats sticking out. On the contrary, the gray market units dont have this but instead they have their antennas mounted on the glass which looks cleaner and infinitely better.

I share your opinion bro. The roof-mounted antenna is definitely an eyesore...

Hello, I'm newly registered to tsikot forums although I have been lurking Also, I noticed on the forums that it seems that fuel economy is not a major advantage of the CRDI....but power and torque are. If these are not critical based on the purpose you require the vehicle for, then I don't think it's worth spending an additional 300-400k just to get the more powerful engine.

the main advantage of CRDi over regular diesel is the convenience of driving. CRDi is like driving a gasoline vehicle na.

wag mo justify na kesyo may driver so dapat manual and TCi, most of the time, eh kayo din mag-drive nyan.

sayang pera mo sa TCi. it's like buying a CRT TV compared to plasma/lcd.

AFAIK, may manual na CRDI Starex -- yung base model sa CRDi line ... Pero wala pa din 3rd brake light at rear wiper ... at malaki pa din.

as Lui mentioned earlier... this is the last batch of TCI units Hari will ever be importing. After that, they will stop selling the TCI units full stop... only CRDi will be available moving forward.

oh i see, maybe this will be the start of a better pricing scheme for the Grand Starex.

may maganda nga tignan kapag yung antenna printed sa glass, like nung sa Gen.3 starex. sana rin lagyan na rin nila ng 3rd brake light, rear wipers, at reverse mirror. and sana rin dun sa 9-seater CRDi VGT GLS na slide and swivel seats fully auto climate control yung HVAC.

maybe they are going to phase-out the TCi models here in preparation for the introduction of the SWB Grand Starex CRDi models. then in the price range na of the TCi models

in the previous gen starex, there were a SWB and LWB so malamang meron din ito. talaga market test lang ang Hyundai muna for the first year. tignan nila kung kakagatin yun LWB na CRDi na tig-1.5M. since hindi kinagat, puputulin na nila yun LWB Starex hehehe

tingin ko ayaw din naman nila mawala ang buyers ng number 1 van in the Phils. expect an SWB months after the Tci is phased out. and perhaps priced competitively na ito

ok na din yung wheelbase nila para sa akin, kita ko yung sa 10 seater, dahil 3 rows lang ang seats, and longer na yung space sa likod, napaka spacious na din, kahit sliding lang yung last row, malaki na din ang magagawang space. Versatile na uli ang bagong Starex, pwede na uling kargahan ng pinamili sa baclaran at divisoria! haha.

I hate to oppose you guys but I don't think the Hari will bring SWB, the van dimension has gone wider & taller, and the best way is to pair it is with longer whell base also. The van's length is just right for it's size. For stability's sake for sure. Let's just welcome the new changes. Ganun pa din naman kadaling i-maneuver ang Starex eh.
Just to compare, in F1, Toyota's latest car, TF108, also had gone longer for improved stability but it doesn't affect the speed and performance.
Isa pa, ayaw nating makitang ang Starex ay parang gumagalaw na square block o box di ba? Hehehe.

1 things for sure, the power and speed is greatly improved, it's unstoppable dude. While travelling at curvaceous provincial highways here, I'm running my Starex at 80- 90 kph when one Grand Starex CRDI overtook me briskly. I tried to catch it up but it's too powerful for me. Even running faster at 110 kph to catch up wasn't enough. At 10 minutes I can't even see the taillight on straight roads. It's so fast like Nissan patrol or any other SUVs. Very good van.

baka ginagawa palang... just my 2 cents... malay natin this will be a surprise launch worldwide by Hyundai, kaso i still prefer the 9-seater LWB swivel and slide seats kasi mas malaki ang cargo space kapag nakaslide forward and tip-up fold yung last row of seats

Not all places have wide and accommodating parking areas. I'd invite you to try parking a Grand Starex in the Balingit Mall in Urdaneta City. Kahit nga yung 2006 Starex, nahihirapan ako i-park dun --Hyundai Getz yata ang ginamit ng engineer na basehan sa pagsukat ng parking area

Also, I do not think a SWB Grand Starex would look like a square block. Nasa diskarte ng designer yan.

I agree dun sa parking. Sa Ever Gotesco lang sa may LRT baka himatayin ang magpa-park dun kung puwede man siya o kahit sa manila pen.



Pero ang tunay na ugat nitong disappointment na ito is HARI going after the Hiace market rather than the more lucrative Innova market. Baka kung times 10 lang eh mas malaki benta ng Innova kesa sa Hiace -- kahit dalawa pa sila ng Carnival na ibangga dito, sulit. IMHO, a bigger and better Innova is worth its weight in gold. Kaya lang mukhang huli sa balita ang info ng HARI -- that, or wordlwide sales are more of their concern now. Eh regional release pa lang ang Innova.

Pag nakain na ng Starex ang global sales ng Hiace, all Toyota has to do is schedule an international launch for a bigger, better Innova.
