Was the starex that was dynoed equipped with an aftermarket chip? Unichip? The HP/Torque increased.. Is it safe to install aftermarket chip?

Sir, any update on this? Kasi when the unit first came out, there was mention on the boards na can change daw for 100K. pero nobody ever confirmed.

I was thinking of getting the CVX unit of Standout which is 100K less than HARI version although the warranty is only 1 year compared to HARI's 5 years.

My question: Ano ba ang mga nasira sa Starex ninyo in the first 5 years? Hindi naman kasi kasama sa warranty ang mga consumables like belts, brake pads, suspensions, filters, oil, etc. Umabot ba ang mga other repairs ninyo ng 100K?

The Gen 4 Starex just came out last year here in the Phils, so we still don't know what may bog down within the first 5 years.;) With the previous gen Starex (Gen 3), there were reports from owners here in tsikot that they had several claims during the 5 year warranty period. Hopefully the latest Starex has better quality.

one last question.... what if yung 2nd row right side seat lang? switch to swivel. magkano kaya? ie. kasi may rail na, i assume kaya palitan lang ng swivel yung fixed sliding.

IMHO, maganda siguro talaga na naka 5 year warranty ka, kasi yung 2002 CRDi Starex namin, bumigay yung computer box on the 5th year, eh mahal yung computer box, 30K ata nagastos ko nung pinagawa ko.

Mura lang naman ang windshield washer reservoir. Baka 1K lang yan or less. Kayang kaya ng 100K savings ko from getting from a grey market.

If 30K lang ang computer box, lamang pa rin ang grey market, kasi 100K ang difference nila. Eh di I save pa rin 70K di ba?

Yes the starex had the Unichip and alcohol/water injection, Yes it's safe to run theh unichip, You can also run just the water injection for close to the same power.

Kunsabagay! Kaya lang, I prefer the "bench type" front seats of the HARI models, mas marami makakaupo sa unahan kapag pinuno ko ng mga goods yung buong likuran. I asked RJ of Pitstuff if they have that kind of seat in front, and he said they don't.

kung pang sundo sundo lang or mga out of town trip, ok na ok na ang tci manual na 10 seater, but if youre into spirited driving i would suggest to get the crdi variant (you can never go wrong with a crdi variant) but since budget is an issue i guess the TCI would be enough, except for the flexibility of the car since the seats are fixed

so we can also see the clearer picture and ano hanap mo sa van?

tnx for the reply sir fastlane! the reason were considering the starex is because my mother wants a bigger vehicle! our innova has barely done 3k on the odo but she wants to sell it, more metal, something large... hehe medyo weird nga po. Were a family of six, so a large vehicle is justifiable naman. pang house-mall-church lang basically ang gamit namin sa sasakyan.

if i may elaborate more this is our criteria:

-budget around 1.3M max
-diesel
-manual tranny
-"big or imposing"
-may "nguso"
-fuel efficiency not an issue (we rarely go out of town using our cars, lol, we rarely use our cars hehe)
-power also not an issue (my dad doesnt like to drive fast)
-brand new

hayy... sayang yung innova namin, she wants that by the time she gets home by december from abroad bago na car namin. Iba talaga pag kumander ka hehe!
