Nanliliit yung Sorento ko compared sa Starex ko. This is my 3rd Starex. 1st gen, 3rd then 4th. Benta agad ng 3rd gen.

So, did you use your Gen3 garage space for your Gen4 Starex? If so, how's the free space now?

Naka park lang po sa labas. Pwede ipasok yung Starex pero dapat kotse ang katabi niya kundi very tight squeeze. Di rin advisable na yung mga van ang i park namin sa loob kasi pag open ng rear lift up door matatamaan yung wall ng garahe. That's why we made an open garage sa binili na lote sa tabi.
I was thinking of getting the CVX unit of Standout which is 100K less than HARI version although the warranty is only 1 year compared to HARI's 5 years.
My question: Ano ba ang mga nasira sa Starex ninyo in the first 5 years? Hindi naman kasi kasama sa warranty ang mga consumables like belts, brake pads, suspensions, filters, oil, etc. Umabot ba ang mga other repairs ninyo ng 100K?
Thanks.
That is also one of my concerns if I replace our current Gen3 with the GS. Although, this may be happening in a little over a year from now, the GS's length may hinder me from opening the rear door fully with our garage gate closed. It's width though, is not a concern as our garage can accommodate a wider vehicle,
Just how much wider it is vs. the Gen3? I ask this question because we pass by a narrow road every weekend, en route to a regular family appointment, where it is already a tight squeeze between a regular-sized tricycle and our Gen3. With the GS, it may be very hard (or not possible at all) to pass this road..

Owner here of grandstarex tci manual bought last october 2007 HARI with 5180km odo reading 2x na change oil 1000 and 5000. Since bihira namin ginagamit starex do we have to wait for 10,000km reading for the next change oil or do we have it changed after 3months? another question is tire pressure sa stock tires na hankook 32front and 37 rear sabi ko sa husband ko underinflated yata.![]()
My point is that could I just save on the price difference of 100K whether I get from Pitstop or Standout? Umabot ba ng 100K ang repairs ninyo sa Starex ninyo during 5 years? Remember that you should NOT count the consumables like change oil, belt, filters, brake pads which HARI also does not include in their 5-year warranty.
subjective to sir, depende sa usage ng sasakyan. eh kadamihan na pinapalitan eh mga consumables, battery every 2 years, tires, bushing, etc etc, the list goes on if the car is not taken properly or not following the PMS required by the manufacturer.
ang lamang mo talaga sa five years warranty, eh 5 years peace of mind that anything happens to the car eh sasagutin ng dealer, but this would mean that you have to bring your car to the casa, every PMS or else void yung warranty mo. so imagine na lang the payment for these PMS as opposed to bringing your car to your friendly shop outside casa
so for your peace of mind i suggest you take 5 years warranty.
re change oil, if budget permits, mas ok na palit lagi ng oil, but if not pwede naman ma stretch yung as long as hindi pa magasapang yung engine oil, mas dumihin kasi oil ng diesel compared sa gasoline engine.
re tire pressure, as suggested also by others, its better to follow the recommended tire pressure of the manufacturer which is usually seen on the drivers door. over-inflation means stiffer ride and uneven tire wear, under-inflation increases fuel consumption and uneven tire wear also, yung nga lang medyo mas comfortable yung ride at the expense of fuel and tire wear
Thanks for the reply.
So you are confirming na wala naman palang nasisira sa Starex except for the usual wear and tear consumables?
In that case, the more it strengthens the arguement to buy from grey market. In case mayrun ibang major part na masira, you can use the 100K you saved earlier. Isa pa, you are not obliged to bring it for PMS for 5 years sa casa, even for change oil. Pwede na sa mga reliable shops within the neighborhood. Cheaper na, convenient pa.
im not saying na wala masisira sir but come to think of it, if HARI is giving 5 years warranty for the car meaning malakas loob nila sa product nila na tatagal, but mostly naman talaga na bumibigay eh yung mga prone sa wear and tear.
as mentioned subjective po ito, like for example i can speak for myself only, but our GS have gone thru 10,000+ kms already in just a span of 6 mos. thank GOD and still no problem (knock on wood).
and mas nauna pa lumabas yung mga sa grey market than hari, i think its been almost a year that this GS are running around the metro, so far never heard of any problem na nasira.
and isa pa you are going to get a comprehensive insurance naman, para protected ka din against vandalism, floods, etc.
but still the minimum warranty you can have for the GS which is 1 year or 15,000 kms sa Standout, 3yrs or 100,000 kms sa pitstop or 5 years or 100,000 kms sa HARI
and kung talagang may sira man yung sasakyan eh lalabas na agad yan
sabi nga if you take good care of your car, it will take good care of you also.
