CRDi guys, pagawa niyo na yung EGR blanking. It does help with acceleration, especially from stop lights ;) And it literally does take 10 minutes to "blank". Mas matagal pa ang chikahan. Hehehe! ;)

TCi guys, ZIX888 needs pix or a unit to work on. Medyo iba ang location ng iba-blank.

Come to think of it, what's the effect again of EGR Blanking on those ASBU's smoke emissions testing?
dinededma lang yang mga buwayang yan, that's what my driver encounters almost everyday along C5/Kalayaan intersection, he's always flagged down but not once did he ever stop. He's driving an '02 Starex SVX A/T. Sometimes naman kapag matraffic, he just looks for one of those big cargo trucks and hide behind it.

maraming points where to blank, kung saan minimized ang pag disassemble ng parts.

i encircled another option where to blank.

in monterosport, there are 5 points where you can do the blanking, so pipili ka lang kung saan convenient maglagay.

i dont think you can completely/permanently close the valve using a software.

    *cocoy,

The GRX's intercooler does cover quite a lot of the engine bay. But perhaps you can take pix of adjacent parts for evaluation.

Done! changed oil kanina 1pm using motul specific, then went to ace to look for materials and buy a cutting disk for my grinder.

yup, 10 minutes is more than enough time for the install if you have the blanking plate on hand. it took me another ~45 minutes to fabrictae the plate using the gasket as a pattern. i used a Yale door lock hasp for the plate, cost P109. wala ako makita na steel plate sa ace but saw some materials there that can be used - a painter's scraper, a mason's trowel, and the Yale hasp. the hasp was the thickest of the 3. meron pa nga stainless steel hasp pero nag-alangan ako baka hindi kaya ng drill bits ko sa bahay.

i only ran the gs in the garage, 4pm na ko natapos and it was raining. walang CEL. i will try tomorrow on the road.

next one will be the sorento by tomorrow afternoon.

dun sa naka circle sa post ni IMm29.

balak ko sana dun sa inlet ng egr kaso madami aalisin, e kung mag cel baklas na naman so change of plans to what works already.

ok naman kanina, parang lumakas ang hatak ng konti, placebo effect hehehe! pero that could also be the oil at bagong palit din kahapon, first time to use motul.

di ko magawa sorento, ginamit ni misis hangang ngayon wala pa.

Nice bro. Diy-er talaga! Destroy yung D ko kaya pass ako sa DIY hehe!

I was telling Zix 888 that feeling ko placebo lang at first, kasi parang gumaan. Then i started flogging it, immediate yung response! I even floored it sa driveway ng rcbc, pero by accident. Burnout, pwede ipalo yung pwet. And all this with 10 month old oil due for replacement.

lowering down the air intake temp is almost the same as putting a bit bigger intercooler bro.

btw just finished some plates for our fellow tsikoteers

mas maganda effect ng blanking sa inyo(GS). on other engines, at idle and low rpms lang commanded open ang egr valve, kaya after blanking, sa low rpm talaga maramdaman, but sa gS, commanded open ang valve by ecu at different ranges ng rpm, kaya ang effect will be felt not only on low rpms

So on the flipside, even at mid or close to full throttle, EGR valve could still be open so parang medyo bitin pa ang output? Interesting.

CVT, hope you can get it done soon bro. ;)

    Maiba ng konti.

As i mentioned a few posts back, my Delo 400 Gold oil is 10 months and 6,000 kms old. So, can't say that the EGR is just placebo or due to the oil, coz luma at palitin na nga. Hehehe! Anyhow, finally got some time yesterday afternoon and happened by Shell BAS, as they were the only ones who were open. They were offering Shell HX7 as the preferred package. I almost went for it, until I checked the specs. CF. Nah.

Ended up with Rimula R4X Multigrade (R3X MG was not being offered anymore). So far have only travelled some 14 kms since so I don't really know how it performs. Anyone here using Rimula X (R3X or R4X)? How goes it? Shell's not my preferred oil manufacturer, but I couldn't wait anymore for free time to get it done by Caltex. I think the specs meet the requirements anyways.

Bro. Rimula X (R3) is mineral oil, right?

Used this up to my 15KKm PMS,- did not encounter any issue naman.
