May I ask inputs from 10th gen civic owners?

I just test drove a civic today, I noticed that my right knee keeps hitting the center console wall, parang nasisikipan ako. Is it just my height (6ft) na hindi ako ganun ka comfortable sa legroom nya or na experience nyo rin ito? Though it doesnt hit if I position my leg more straight, but my knee tends to lean on the right when i drive talaga eh. Im just wondering if hindi uncomfortable pag naka shorts lang.

Second concern is the fabric part of the door panels and center console (for 1.8E), hindi po ba madali mag "run" yung fabric material nya? Madali ba matanggal dumi?

Last, If i buy the 1.8 E, may mabibili ba na RS stock spoiler? Sabi kase nung SA, its only exclusive for the RS, though they have aftemarket spoilers for the civic, pero hindi raw pwede yung kamukha nung sa RS?

    Thanks in advance.

    re. the first item. ergonomics.
if you feel it, than you feel it, po.
it won't go away even if a dozen others say it's not.

At first, nakakapanibago yung raised center console ng Civic especially compared to my older car (an Altis). Can't speak for 6-footers since I'm not that tall but my knee doesn't hit the center console.

You can try pushing back the seat and pulling the telescopic steering as far as possible to have a farther driving position.

So far the center console and door sidings are holding up well in my Civic after 20,000 km, but having it reupholstered in leather will add a more premium feel, not to mention more ease in cleaning.

Nasa manual yan, with matching pictures pa.

As with most cars, between the wheelbase, near the tire in question you'll feel a notch where the jack fits firmly.

Any one with a photo of a leather wrapped steering wheel for the 1.8e?

Looking to get mine wrapped at seatmate unless anyone has any better suggestions. To perforate or not?

You can check in Seatmate's FB page. Napansin ko pag urethane steering wheel tapos pina-leather wrap, kumakapal yung rim because pinapatong lang yung leather. That's the only reason why I haven't had mine leather wrapped yet.

On my old Altis though with a stock leather steering wheel that degraded over time, sobrang ganda ng gawa nila when they reupholstered it with new leather.

If they find a way to leather-wrap your steering wheel without thickening it, please do share here.

The dealership where I bought my Civic 1.8 is offering double undercoating for 4950. Do I need this? Usually daw 8k yung price nya.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

Planning to buy Civic 1.8E this December. Was decided 100% on the Civic until I saw James Deakin’s post on his new Jetta 2.0.

Anyone here who has done a comparo of coth cars? Or who have experience (test) driving both?

Prefers civic because of the looks. But the diesel engine and 15k km PMS schedule on the Jetta are hard to ignore. And German pa pla.

    Thanks!

unless you intend to drive it off-road on a regular basis, i do not think you need it.

Save your money ... skip the undercoating ... whether single, double, or triple ... not needed ...

    Civic? ... offroad? ... naaaaah ...

You can back read a few pages and there were comparisons between the new Civic and the new Jetta. You can also read the inputs on the VW cars section.

Before I bought a Civic, I had the same dilemma as yours. My boss has a Jetta and was convincing me to get one then. The car has all the functionalities you would need for a daily driver, plus it is very economical in terms of diesel consumption. And the once-a-year visit to the dealership is very tempting. However, what made me choose the Civic is the feeling I get whenever I'm in the driver's cockpit. It's just different with the Civic! The Jetta is somewhat laid back for me and the overall styling is traditional.

Truth of the matter is, my wife fell in love with the civic more than the other. And she had the final say! ;)
