It might be a design feature. I also have a similar experience albeit with a different brand. The keyless entry will stop working if the car isn't used for about a week. The way to reactivate it is to physically insert the key in the door and twist to unlock then lock it again. HTH
QUESTION:
1. What is the best fuel to use for the 1.8 2017 Civic?
2. What is the average fuel consumption for the 1.8 2017 Civic? - (mixed driving condition
3. How do you find the Civic's ride height? Is it too low to drive confidently around Metro Manila?
The Civic is on my shortlist. Thank you.
Just tried it on my 2017 RS which is sitting in my garage collecting dust for almost 2weeks now. Been dailying my everest lately since maulan at maputik and mabaha sa province namin. Anyway, Remote start worked fine. (Got the keys, push lock button and then held RS button for ~5sec.)
Please check with your dealer na lang po.
Good luck!
1. Any fuel works well with the Civic. I've tried different brands and have observed no difference in fuel consumption and performance. Just stay away from shady stations with questionable operational standards as these have a higher chance of contaminated fuel.
2. My mixed driving average is 10.784 km/L.
3. Though the Civic is 20mm lower on paper compared to other compacts, I have never scraped any parking ramp or speed hump even with 5 on board.
What are the other cars in your shortlist?

Just tried the remote start on a 1.8 parked for more than week, and it started fine. maybe its best to ask the dealer.![]()
Thank you very much for the response sir!
I am going back and forth between getting an SUV vs the Civic. My SUV options are the Tucson, HR-V and BR-V.
I am concern with the ride height of the Civic since on paper it is lower compared to other sedans. However, you are the 2nd person who told me that the ride height is fine for the Civic.
You FC for the Civic is a bit surprising though, 11-12km/L seems to be low, driving style perhaps? Do you use the ECON mode sir?
I appreciate you sharing your experience with your Civic. Again, thanks!
Wow 3.5k km in roughly a month!

I'm envious. Unfortunately, city slicker palang car ko. Just hit 2k after acquiring it in April.

What were you expecting with the FC? It's in line with my FC for all my other cars:
2017 Civic 1.8E CVT: 10.784 km/L (24% city/61% mixed/15% highway)
2015 Altis 1.6G 6MT: 10.205 km/L (37% city/52% mixed/11% highway)
2013 Ranger XLT 6MT: 10.092 km/L (62% city/33% mixex/5% highway)
2012 Honda Civic 1.8 EXi 5AT: 10.859 km/L (35% city/54% mixed/11% highway)
2004 Mazda 3 2.0R 4AT - 5.693 km/L (88% city/9% mixed/3% highway)
My city driving routes are usually Pasig to BGC or Pasig to QC, often during rush hour. My usual mixed driving routes are provincial highways in North Luzon. My usual highway driving routes are NLEX, SCTEX, and TPLEX. I keep Econ mode on most of the time.
All my figures are based on actual data recorded every single time I fill up with a full tank.

Finally got the white RS. From my short ride home in traffic and wet weather, I noted its supple ride and smooth engine. Haven't switched Econ off yet. The driver seat is a nice place to be. My first time with brake hold and I like it. Is the steering ratio quicker than normal?
Noticed walang mud guards. I wonder if I can buy those at the casa or online. First thing is to get it tinted (V-Kool) and glass coated (GTechniq).
Dumb question: what exactly is Brake Hold? I honestly don't know what it's for.

Thanks AC_23.
mquavila, brake hold uses the electronic handbrake system to prevent forward creep while stopped in traffic - so that you can rest your right foot. When enabled (by pressing the brake hold button on the console), it activates by stepping on the brakes with slightly more pressure as you come to a halt.
