I'll push through with the Civic 1.8E. Another agent just contacted me to tell me that a unit is available for me. I'll just have to process the refund from the other agent, in the meantime.

you can require the dealer to process the or/cr before releasing the unit, so it will be legal to use.

From what the agent told me, the car already has an MV File Number. But I guess they will still have to process the OR/ CR under my name?

That's really good FC. Best I've gotten is 14.1 km/L with a 1.6 Altis, at night without any traffic. Daytime FC is about 11 km/L.
With my 1.8 Civic I'm averaging 12 km/L now with daytime travel and the usual provincial traffic. I'm already driving nicely at that.

The drive was all during daytime, ECON off, sporadic shifts to "S" (on twisties and uphill road sections, mostly). I think it helped that the flow of traffic was mainly limited to the 60-80kph sweet spot and I often could not go faster due to the lack of opportunities to overtake.
After the trip, I went to fill my tank (I left with a full tank) and confirmed the computed FC. It also helped that my passenger (the GF) is averse to spirited driving, so I had to take it easy most of the time lest I get a scolding.
Excellent restraint on your end. I probably wouldn't be able to last 10 minutes without overtaking.
Did you take note of your average speed during the trip?
Just travelled Laoag to San Juan LU today, 12 km/L * 42 kph average speed. Traffic was pretty bad after Vigan and lots of road construction works in Ilocos Sur and LU.

Yeah, traffic is now pretty bad due to slow-moving vehicles. I used to be able to do Manaoag-San Juan in 1:30, now it takes me more than 2 hours, sometimes 3.
The road works gave us trouble going to Vigan (caught mostly red lights) but got lucky going back to Manaoag (mostly green). Average speed on the computer is 32 Kph, this includes a lot of times we were stopped at the road works. Actual average when moving was around 60.

implemented na ba ang 80kph for buses? dali siguro mag overtake. .

It's not the buses that are the problem. They usually go at around 80 kph on the provincial highway, I actually don't mind trailing behind them for a bit.
What ruins my pace and fuel efficiency are the tricycles. You're coasting at a leisurely 80-100 kph and then suddenly have to brake to 30 kph. Then overtake, accelerate again at full throttle to avoid the oncoming car, only to brake again for the next set of slow tricycles.
This is why I prefer to travel at night. Travel time is almost halved and fuel efficiency is better by 2 km/L even if I travel at a faster pace.

I'll finally get my 1.8E today. Luckily, another agent had contacted me the other day to tell me that a unit was available for me. Will get the Modern Steel Metallic instead of Lunar Silver Metallic, which is just fine with me because Modern Steel was actually my first choice of color, originally.
