Because I was in a hurry and needed the car the same day. 😅

Top-end of the Civic is amazing! Unlike all my other compacts, this one doesn't feel breathless past 200 kph. The CVT really helps to improve acceleration. 😄

No rubber mat at center console.
    Yes, got 2 smart keys.

    2017 RS
Thank you for the info sir. The bottom of the center console felt "naked" without the rubber mats since aside from being slippery and clunky without them, you can feel the two bolt holes prominently at the bottom. The finish just feels unrefined without it. Nevertheless, I asked the SA to check with the factory kung meron.

So what top speed did you manage? There used to be a 200 kph club in TeamFD. Baka dapat gawa rin tayo dito.

Impressive for a 1.8. Did your overall tire diameter decrease when you changed to 18" rims?

Overall diameter is just 0.8% smaller with my 225/40R18 tires compared to 215/55R16 stock tires.

That's the same difference as the 215/55R16 vs 215/50R17 on the RS.

You can buy interior cubby hole mat kit at clifford for 1k pesos.

Nope. That's only for the USDM Civic I think. Saw the article about that, doesn't apply to PHDM Civics.
Yup, that appears to be the case. The lower trim LX and the coupe HB also doesn't get it in the US. Thanks for checking sir jut! By the way, the center console mat (with design at the back) is being sold by dealers in the US for only $3.

It's actually pretty good value considering you get custom-fit textured rubber mats for just about any interior flat surface. The only downside is I find the design too tacky for the 1.8 E. It would probably look right at home with the Si or Type R. Thanks sir for the heads up, sir! Ngayon napapa tingin tuloy ako sa ibang kits and accessories doon.

Dumb question: what exactly is Brake Hold? I honestly don't know what it's for.

The parking brake button activates the electronic parking brake (you'll hear it activate if the area is quiet).

Brake Hold just applies the brakes for you. If you would notice, when Brake Hold is on, the 3rd brake light is also on.

I use Brake Hold for stoplights and intersections, and the Parking Brake when I'm parked.

That type R looks mighty tempting. But the manual for Manila turns me off. 100 units only. Hmmmmmmm

300T over the STI? Can't see a compelling reason to choose the Type R over the former.

100 units only. You're paying for the exclusivity.

For sure, those 100 units will be snapped up very quickly.

The current STi doesn't have as much a cult following as the Type R. In fact, so many ordinary Civic owners are turning their cars into Type R-wannabes, with red badges and aesthetic mods. 😂

Even in the US, they're charging a premium for the Type-R. Some dealers are tacking a 100% mark-up in the US.

    Which is godawfully insane.

    -

Locally, the STi is the only competitor in that price range guaranteed to be in the same ballpark in terms of on-track ability. The Mustang might be quicker on the streets, but it's a nose-heavy car compared to those compacts.

Still... 3m is insane. I would've expected 2.5m for the Type R, but I suppose the huge demand in the US is limiting the supplies they can give to LHD markets like ours.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
