We really thought they'd bring in the 158 hp variant for the TOTL. Every other country has the AWD mated exclusively to the 158 hp variant. During the speech, they noted that we are unique in the ASEAN region because our variant packaging is different. According to my encyclopedic friend whose name begins with a "U", there were concerns about fuel additives and quality for the 160 ps diesel.

It might still happen. But not yet.

Given the quality of diesel here other manufacturer specially korean brand can tune their diesel engine to its maximum potential. Yung 2.2 R diesel engine nila 200ps na ngayon from 196ps noong euro2. Euro4 na tayo di parin kaya ng honda[emoji34]

According to my encyclopedic friend whose name begins with a "U", there were concerns about fuel additives and quality for the 160 ps diesel.

It might still happen. But not yet.

One of the big differences is the turbo. Both FWD and AWD get the same single scroll turbo here.

    On the Space:

The five seater has more cargo space, of course, but one bonus of the seven seater that most overlooked is that the second row slides far, far back. In its rear-most position, the second row of the seven seater is about an inch or two further back than the second row of the five seater.

That said, in its rearmost position, the second row sits right under the rear AC assembly, which is bulky, so taller guys will feel the pinch (tall, in this case meaning over six feet).

The third row is tight, obviously. No space for adult feet with the second row all the way back.

But with the second row in the same position as in the five, your feet will fit under the seat. Honda has adjusted the seat rails so that there are pockets for your feet between them.

With the second row scooted forward, a six footer will fit in both second and third. Knees against the second row seat back, but he'll fit. Those five and a half feet or shorter will fit comfortably in the third. You can recline the third, and it is nice, but your head will hit the rear glass if you're over 5'3". Much like the Santa Fe.

The big problem is egress. You cannot enter or exit the third row gracefully, even though the second tumbles forward.

    The rest of the mechanicals:

AWD gets bespoke suspension. Taller springs, 208mm ground clearance. Cast (instead of stamped) lower arms on the rear multi-link. Very ruggedized. All variants get fuel tanks with tubular tank guards and heavy-duty underbody cladding for better aerodynamics and underchassi protection.

All get liquid-filled suspension bushings and floating subframes. Expect Mazda-like NVH and suspension control, though not Mazda handling.

    The Price:

All three variants presented were ultra-loaded. All had the 7" touchscreen and back-up cameras, the same leatherette seats, the same 8-speaker audio system, and the same 18" mags. LED headlights. LED foglights. Etcetera.

Base gasser gets Toyo Proxes instead of Michelin tires. Traditional automatic shifter instead of pushbuttons. No rear ceiling AC, but still the same dual zone system as the other two (note CR-V gets rear console vents as standard). So it's a "base" model, but at 1.5m, loaded na. And without the rear ceiling AC, there's more headroom in the back.

Sweet spot I think is the 1.75m diesel. All the toys and diesel. Cheapest diesel only gets a standard head-unit, a 4-speaker sound system, 17" alloys, halogen headlamps and single-zone climate control (but still with roof-mounted rear AC). Leatherette comes standard, though, so it's not completely stripped.

AWD gets Honda Sense, power tailgate, panoramic sunroof, pushbutton automatic shifter, AWD, etcetera. Honda knows it will only sell in limited numbers, but they needed a halo car, anyway, so they loaded it to the gills. Taller guys complained about the headroom with the sunroof, though.

    -

Say what you will about the price, but I think this will do a whole lot better than the previous model.
Will our engine be more frugal than the more power 350nm diesel? Im thinking it will be..

also the base diesel has a standard head unit.. will it come with a reversing camera? and will the 17incher be michellin tires also?

fafa, kahit yun wildtrak di ko iaakyat ng Pinatubo, magkano lang maghire ng 4x4 mas mura pa kung pag-uwi ko naman eh mas mahal gagastusin ko sa pyesang papalitan. those FJs who attempted that trail, I think I know what they're after, nag-picture picture lang sa habang nag-attempt umakyat, tapos yun konting edit sa snapseed then instagrammy. mission fulfilled. yun wildtrak ko black series pa naman, it so good looking all clean and shiny tapos yun front grille ko original black din, hello why would I cover it with dust.

fafa naman, you have to really know guys who buy 4x4s today, pang instagram na lang talaga mga pina-pamodify sa autobot autoworks or whatever.

but if we are for example to base the usage of this part-time 4x4 module ng CRV as compared to existing PPVs na panay naman 4x2 sa city drive. eh mukhang promising ang CRV coz it will sense like an AI robot when to engage the 4wd system as the need arises. yan ang useful.

pero hindi mamitig ang legs mo while seating if you're active say in running sports. na-fefeel nyo ba yun may gusto kayo sapatos pero sapatos na gusto nyo is somehow masikip para size naman ng paa nyo. yan kasi ang effect ng sobrang dami carbs and fats sa katawan, lumalapad ang paa, and therefore ang nabibile are crocs at saka mga barkong sapatos as well as using the tacky rubber shoes for casual wear.

me I always wear vans as my casual wear. I have a collection of vans. notorious pa naman ang vans na sumisikip after a long sit so yun na nga baka yun lang

Mahilig talaga honda sa ganyan ... remember the 10 seater honda crv meant to compete with auv's of the day ... revo and hilander killer? that was a big joke ... ngayon eto ang 7 seater diesel ppv killer nila.

Was expecting the same diesel engine specs as the Thai version. Honda should have at least introduced the 2.4 liter gas or the 1.5 liter turbo instead of the detuned 1.6.

    First diesel. They're being cautious.

Hyundai has likewise been cautious bringing in certain engines, notably the turbo gasser in the Veloster.

Many manufacturers are cautious about local fuel quality. Some europeans, in particular, have suffered because of it.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Mechanically, what's the difference between the 120 and 160 hp versions of the 1.6 iDTEC?

If I did my homework right, the 1.6 diesel really started out its life as a 120 hp mill. Sometime in 2015 or 2016, Honda upped the power to 160 hp since they discontinued the 2.2.

Did they change the turbo or is it a matter of more aggressive ECU settings? If it's the latter, then a chip upgrade should give the 120 hp diesel a healthy boost, yeah?

there is something that people fail to see here when Honda released their first crossover diesel. While most of you are thinking that Honda is somehow challenging the PPV market, Honda is proving that crossovers diesels need not be that expensive. The Koreans like Kia and Hyundai are offering the Santa Fe and Sorento at sub 2M prices since. With this car, there's no excuse for the Koreans to create that perception that crossover diesels are expensive. so maybe right now, Hyundai and Kia think tanks are meeting right now to address this threat. a Honda 1.6 diesel that can carry 7 people and thrifty at the same time sends many mixed messages. I mean for starters I doubt if their marketing strategy of offering bare stripped down models Tucson and Sportage is viable anymore for the next months to come.
The Japanese delivered the first affordable diesel crossover with leathers seats, complete airbags, sensors even backup cameras and touch HUs.
