Blame it on HondaPH pricing. They could have priced it to compete against the Explorer, Santa Fe, Sorento, Pajero, and CX9. What came into HondaPH's marketing to price it like a Ford Expedition, we simply have no idea.

Is it actually possible to spec a different power output from different markets?

I don't doubt that the non-AWD 1.6 will come with the 118hp diesel, but I've been informed that the AWD comes with the 158 hp variant.

Didn't even know there was a 158 hp variant until that point.

Well, only one or two PPVs, actually.

Some sites claim 9.6 to 10 seconds for the 0-100, but that's most likely them transposing 0-60 mph times to 0-100 km/h times.

Some people still don't understand that 100 km/h is 62 mph, not 60. In my testing, for cars in this speed range, that extra 2 km/h can be anywhere from half a second to an entire second. Sometimes even longer if the car shifts at just over 60 mph, as many do.




Remember guys, speedometers are not exact. At 200 km/h, you have an error of around 10-20 km/h. (error typically 5-10 km/h at 100 km/h).

Wouldn't worry much about speed. That's not the CR-V's game, anyway. And the TOTL AWD should have the 158 hp (160 ps) version of the diesel, anyway.

Why are the media sites (motioncars, Kotse.com) reporting 160 hp diesel and 2.4L gas variants, while the ahente leaks are reporting 118 hp and 2.0 gas?

I hope they wont overprice it. The sweet spot is between 1.5 to 2M. Comparable with the Montero, Everest and Fortuner.

Noted. But is this technically a PPV? Not an expert in car makes but as far as I know, PPVs are SUVs based on Pickup trucks ( ex. Everest is based on Ford Ranger).

It will be competing more against the Santa Fe 4x2 and Sorento 4x2. I think the new CRV is smaller in dimensions compared to the Santa Fe and Sorento.
