    Published October 14, 2020 1:49pm

Authorities said the the ambulance was coming from Gubat, Sorsogon heading for Bulacan when a ten-wheeler delivery van from Manila going to Naga City swerved into the opposite lane.

Tagkawayan Municipal Police Station officials said the delivery van was at fault as it strayed into the opposite lane, causing the collision.

But the truck driver insisted that the ambulance was the one that strayed into his lane.

I watch kamote riders in FB all the time. Cringe and educational at the same time.

When I drove on that road many years ago,- that part of the Quirino/Andaya HWay in Tagkawayan was the worst - lubak-lubak... And yet the vehicles were speeding....

There was a portion of the highway where one side collapsed and there was no warning/notice to the speeding motorists...

    Very scary....

The ambulance had a dash cam. Truck driver is at fault.

But but its a Pajero not a Monstero...

from the video in the other thread,
it would appear that the big truck swung over to the oncoming ambulance's lane to overtake a tricycle, resulting in the head-on collision.

The police should immediately give this report. How many days do they need to finalize the report?

That may have been survivable if the ambulance had more decent crumple zone volume. Unfortunately, these cab over vans don't offer much front passenger cabin protection.

Flat nose vans are dangerous, especially the L300 FBs...

i haven't seen the guy for some time now.
has he turned a new leaf?
or... he finally met the fate that he had been tempting for so long?

Those flat noses are doubly dangerous on provincial 2 way roads. Road system would be much safer if it were one way like in most developed countries.

For Europe this is driven by length restrictions on commercial vehicles. They are incentivized to make the cab as short as possible in order to have more trailer space.

Yung dashcam video po pala mismo napost nyo...

Anyway, the video proves this statement of the truck driver is complete and utter BS:

But the truck driver insisted that the ambulance was the one that strayed into his lane.
