I'm not sure about the current one, but the old one is water-cooled. Should be no "oil-coking" issues with the turbo unit, so maintenance should be just as easy or hard, as it were, as with the non-turbo units.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

I'm here in Cebu "working", but originally from Quezon... I have a question, may be somebody can give me an answer.

Hello mga sirs I'm also planning to buy a 2nd Gen 2.5 CRDI everest here in Iloilo. Gusto ko ang porma ng everest at saka from what I've read malakas ang engine and kasya kaming 7 sa loob. Any feed back sa stereo/radio/cd player ng Eve... MAraming salamat po...

The 4x2 everest comes with stock head unit single cd/mp3 player as standard, not the best in its class though. For me this cannot overshadow the "Ford Built-Tough" service it gives to me especially when shuttling between our prubinsya and M Manila.

But if you are more inclined to this accessory, maybe an Isuzu Alterra which equipped with LCD monitors, suits your preference but with additional cost.

The FORD San PAblo just recently placed a display here in NAGA CITY, Camarines Sur. The display unit is FORD EVEREST 4x2 M/T (diesel). i checked it inside out, ganda talaga, super! and nalaman ko kay cute na cute na MS. RHENZ, the sales consultant, that they travelled all the way from San Pablo to Naga city on that Ford Eve. Grabe, it was able to endure the worst road condition of the Quirino Highway stretching from Tagkawayan Quezon up to Ragay, Camarines Sur. That on hell of a bumpy ride.

the very touchy part is, Ms Rhenz has offered me to test drive that unit, as in touch ako kahit sabio naming by the first quarter of 2008 pa kami makakabili ng bagong sasakyan and were not yet decided what vehicle suits us the best. so kahit na daw ganon, she still insisted to have me scheduled for test drive. so bago daw sila umuwi ng laguna this saturday (Dec 8, 2007) antayin nila muna ako to have me test drive the unit. so the D-Day comes and i eventually test drive the eve. well it was the best! nanibago ako, (i used to drive our very first vehicle -- gawang pinoy lang, the pride of Cavite, the stainless steel owner type jeep -- it was our vehicle for almost 7 years now) anyway to site my observations:

1- nanibago ko kasi napaka smooth ng transmission, i mean yung lever ang lambot mag shift (siguro kasi bago pa).

2- the engine noise was amazingly silent as compared to its major competitor ( i used to standby beside a Crosswind with its engine running, grabe ang bago bago pa, maingay na ang makina).

3- the handling was excellent, i was able to drive it single handed easily by left hand on the steering wheel (kasi sanay na ko na ang kanang kamay palagi nakahawak sa shift lever).

4- the engine response is ok. i could feel my back being pushed back in the seat as i accelerate. too bad that i wasn't able to test the VGT of it kasi downtown kami nag test drive and stop and go ang traffic dun.

5- i was with my sister and she was in the second row seat and she said that the space/leg room was very "spaceous " (tama ba spelling?) that a passenger was able to stretch out during long trips. perfect for travel to baguio from bicol, hindi hassle sa passenger as in ver comfortable ang travel.

6- the airconditioning is very good. wala ko masabi.

7- the audio system, well for me, as long as i can hear clear and crisp music from a car audio system ok na sakin yun.

8- the suspension is very good as far as i can say.

9- so far yun lang ang napansin ko, and i didn't have any negative comments or whatsoever about EVE, maybe because i was amazed while i am driving it and maybe because medyo ignorante pa ko. LOL! i don't think its perfect, i know there are also some downside.

But not to offend the Eve Fanatics here, Hyundai Tucson is on our Top list being seconded by KIA Sportage (all CRDI A/T), but what we really want is any kind of vehicle basta Diesel M/T. so that makes us turn our head to
Ford Eve. Just for additional 200K kuha na namin ang prefered vehicle namin and may bonus pa, that's instant 7-seater agad.

the thing that discourages us is the location of the CASA. I used to drive with my Boss (boss of the company where i work) to baguio for almost every other month, medyo nakakasawa na nga eh. but if something wrong happened with the vehicle and it requires servicing, having it towed to laguna is not a walk in the park. Isa lang sana wish namin, for FORD to finally establish Sales and Service center here in bicol.

so that's all i can say.

Wow Bicol to Baguio that's quite a very long and tiring drive! I can say that the Eve is worthy and capable for that kind of need. Advise ko lang na dalawa dapat kayong driver tulad ng mga Bicol Express bus or if not a stopover for the night rest in Manila.
As far as I know 'according to Ford people may balak talaga silang mag-launch ng new dealership in Naga by next year kaya may mga scheduled sales/service caravan sila dyan.

thanks for the advices guys, i'll keep those in mind...

well, mukhang sikat na sikat si miss rhenz ha.. i still have her calling card with me... anyway, extended nga ang exhibit/display ng ford dito sa naga, and they have their all new ford focus, and ibang team na ang nandito, so i didn't bother applying for another test drive kasi baka tarayan nila ako. hehehehe joke! anyway soon to open nga ang ford dito, malapit daw ang location sa proposed location ng SM CITY naga... oh say nyo, umaasenso na rin ang bicol after typhoon reming.. anyway, the best ang driving experience with ford eve... sarap pang long trips.
