    Greeting!

By next week, I will be getting my New Ford Everest. Any last minute advice that I can haggle with the dealer i.e. freebies, and others.

    Thanks

everest owners, hindi po ba underpowered ang 4x2 A/T sa overtaking & uphill driving? Coz we're planning to get one. Tia.

The 2.5 is definitely not underpowered, but the electronic throttle can cause a lot of lag when overtaking. Takes some getting used to... you just have to press earlier and wait for the power to come on. But when the power comes on... it's bloody quick. Faster than my Dad's old 2.5 Hyundai Starex GRX CRDi, which is already fast for a 2.5 liter diesel.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Or you can GO for the manual; you can drive in "tipid mode" or "power mode". Kung madalas naman kayo bumiahe sa probinsya, manual ang mas OK, IMHO.

For a 2.5 liter on a big vehicle. You will be amazed on how much power it has. Test drive it for your self. I recommend Ford Balintawak.

When you are on the driver seat. step on the pedal to experience the pull

check also if it has log response. i may say the difference with the automatic transmission. pag sa fortuner naka tapak na ako sagad di pa ako nahahatak eh. kung baga yung inertia ko sa pag kakaupo ko hindi ko agad ramdam.. pero sa eve. wala ako masabi. galit agad eh. haha lakas ng hatak..

bang for the buck talaga everest...

But this electronic throttle has a fuzzy logic memory, meaning it remembers the driving pattern of the previous driver. The duty of my everest is to bring my kids to school and I specifically gave strict instruction to my driver not to drive fast. So, whenever I drive the everest, the lag is noticeable when I suddenly step on the accelelator (I have a heavy foot). But after a while, it memorizes the way I drive and the lag disappears. It somehow makes the everest high-revving and happy

BTW, this is different from the turbo lag, which the everest has none, due to the VGT.

    Question,

Regarding power on a 2.5 Ford Everest which do you recommend A/T or M/T?

    Thanks.

You can always squeeze more power with an M/T but the 2.5 A/T has good response as well. The A/T is also intelligent and smooth shifting and knows the right gear in any given situation. Very convenient too, in heavy traffic.

Ford has an A/T 2.5 test drive vehicle. Pwede mong ibirit ng ibirit

True... but it's darn irritiating... when you've been driving in traffic for a while and the road opens up so you can overtake, there's no smooth transition between modes... you'll have to wait for the computer to adjust.

After I drove the Ranger, it acted like a hyperactive puppy for everyone else who drove it... even my brother, who is Captain Slow himself...

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
