    From FB:
How to stream your waze or google maps audio to the sync system -

    1. Press the voice control button on the steering wheel audio control
    2. At the voice command prompt say "Audio". The information display panel on the dashboard should show the "Listening Ear" icon.
    3. Scroll down and select the Bluetooth Audio option or say "Bluetooth Audio". The display panel should show a confirmation.
    4. Choose "Play" or say "Play".
    5. Your music stored in your mobile phone should play and any instruction coming from your navigation app should be heard through the car speakers.

Note that if you push CD, or Radio or Phone buttons, the connection will terminate and you have to redo steps 1 to 5.

    Hope this helps! Drive safely!

    Hi guys,

Planning to get a car or small SUV/Crossover, have been thinking of the 3 (coz there are promos for those 3 that i can afford):

The ecosport, focus, or the nissan juke, any opinion or advice guys?

Thank you very much in advance.

    cheers,

    cheers,
Between the three, I'd get the Focus. It's a no-brainer. It is a much a better drive - quicker, faster, and more responsive. The Focus also offers a bigger interior space.

If you want a cheaper alternative with the same interior space as an Ecosport but drives really well, get a Fiesta Ecoboost.

Thanks a lot for the advice Egan.

Any idea how's the FC of the Focus?

And how's the car's maintenance cost? I mean is a reliable, or anyone experience any major problem about the car?

    Thanks again.

The Focus is heavy for a compact car. It 1.5L turbo engine is quite powerful, more comparable to 2.5L non-turbo gas engines, making the car quite quick and athletic. On city driving routes, FC is higher compared to cars with 1.6L or 1.8L non-turbo engines. My friend who drives a Focus HB 1.5L Ecoboost is doing only around 6-7 km/L on city routes but it is quite efficient on the highway.

The sales of the current Focus suffered from the reliability issues of the previous generation models. It cannot compare to the volume of sales of a Civic or Altis or Mazda3. Expect PMS cost every 6 months to be around 5k-6k. Due to its low sales, there are not much talk about it but my friend is happy with his Focus.

If fuel consumption is a key consideration for you, you may want to check out the base model 2017 VW Jetta 2.0L TDI priced at 1.1M. It has a turbo diesel engine and offers Euro quality for the price of an Asian brand.

    Hi Egan,

Thank you so much for all the advises and suggestions.

How long has your friend been driving the focus? Any complains from him?

I will check out the Jetta, but i suppose the maintenance cost will be sky high?

He got it last year. He opted for the Sport model and he got around 80k discount for it. He's a carnut like me also.

VW-PH follows a 15k KM or 12-month PMS cycle. We paid around 10k+ for the 12-month PMS of our 2016 Jetta 1.6L TDI. The cost is the same for the 2017 models. Go check the VW Lineup for Manila thread for pictures and more information from owners.

Any feedback naman po sa Ecosport Trend MT? I'm considering buying kasi. My experience with Ford is with a friend's Fiesta AT transmission conking out and the cost to repair was somewhere 100k

Will the MT suffer the same including high maintenance costs as I have heard?

most likely no transmission issues w/ the M/T version but of course you'll still get hit w/ ford's fully-synthetic racket backread a few pages i have a lot of posts on this

also think twice about the ecosport. it's cramped. no luggage carrying capability spare tire sticks out at the back, space that should've been used to enlarge the interior

    the side-swinging rear door sucks

    it feels sluggish to drive

ford Sync feels and sounds like 10yo tech, befitting of the nokia ngage dashboard which looks silly to say the least. not to mention limiting your HU upgrade options

better wait for honda WR-V, now honda india's best selling vehicle surpassing the City. by the looks of it it's a lot more intelligently designed than the ecosport

i was strongly considering the m/t ecosport too after reading all about the DCT issues

until my sis got a trend a/t and i've been driving it for about a month now. periodic maintenance (dis)service is a scam

went to S&R w/ 4 people onboard. boot is so small there no space for groceries

If interior space is a key consideration, don't expect much from an Ecosport. It is as cramped inside as a Fiesta. An Altis or Sylphy will offer a bigger interior space for the same amount of money.

Drove my staff's Ecosport Trend MT to and from Ilocos. Ang bagal. 😣

I tried to keep between 2000-3000 rpm so as not to scare my passengers, but at that range the car has absolutely no grunt. There where times where I needed to floor it to 6000 rpm, unfortunately not much grunt there too. Even at full throttle, it can barely keep up with 1.3 Vioses and 1.2 Mirages.

It's okay if you just drive with the same pace as everyone else, but if you overtake a lot, this will leave you disappointed. I'm surprised my old 1.3 Vios AT was peppier than this Ecosport. You really have to wring the car to get any sense of power.

^^^ Ford should have brought here the Ecosport with the 1.0L Ecoboost engine. That would have made the Ecosport much livelier to drive.

The Ecosport weighs almost 1300 kg, the Fiesta weighs just north of 1100 kg. 200 kg is worth 3 passengers, which is what driving the Ecosport felt like.

I wasn't even comparing it to the Civic since that's absolutely no contest. I was referencing my old Vios 1.3 (85 hp, 1060 kg, 80 hp/ton) - which felt like it had more low-end power than the Ecosport.

Don't get me wrong, under normal driving on provincial roads, the Ecosport felt adequate. But I drive faster than normal. Unfortunately, when going from 1/4 throttle to 3/4 throttle, there just isn't any additional grunt. You have to downshift to get the car above 4500 rpm to get decent pull, and you have to stay at that range to perform continuous overtakes on the provincial highway. If I try to overtake faster cars (think the usual PPV driver), it takes a lot of effort and redline shifts. I don't like it because it's noisy and unsettling for my passengers.

Brakes are the same case too - good initial bite if you're trying to slow the car down from a moderate speed with a fairly long stretch of road. But if you're doing a tight overtake and have to apply the brakes harder, surprise surprise, there's not much more braking power there.

I suppose that getting a Ford vehicle but PMS being done outside casa maybe better? will just void car warranty

It would be best to retain your warranty with a Ford vehicle ...

Hi, unsure if i'm on the right forum but does anyone here have an insider on when Ford ph will launch the 2018 ecosport (facelifted)? The dealers are tight lipped about it even though i'm already willing to queue. TIA
