Good day guys, just wanna ask your quick opinions about EcoSport Titanium coz we are planning to get one hopefully next month.
Things like Fuel Economy and issues or compared to Fiesta S EcoBoost.
software upgrade is BS.
The DCT is such a pain to drive in traffic. Marami na kong exprience na parang nag hu-hunt yung tranny ng Ecosport sa traffic.
Also, I've got two officemates who's ranting on their DCT Fiesta's.
One spent 25k on sensor/solenoid parts, and still no solution... the damn thing sometimes wont go into reverse.
One is constantly using a RESET from a ECU reader to rest his tranny.... it wont go into reverse also.
One of them had it "changed oil..to the tune of 8k...." didnt do anything... The oil drained was black with about 40,000 kms on it.... I thought it was sealed?? He's still scratching his head why the oil turned putrid black. Normal driving ... no floods...etc.
Fiesta DCT alam ko may problems nga. Pero sa ecosport la pa ako nababalitaan ah.
I thought Ford solved that already.
Well in fairness, I have not heard of any DCT failures / horror stories in the Ecosport DCT, but a lot of sluggish and slow/hunting gears in traffic.... but to be also objective, there isnt a lot of OLD DCT Ecosports yet. Naka 2 software upgrade ek ek na yung ECOsport sa family pero ganun pa din, it runs well for a week after the reflash, but goes back again.
Fiesta DCT failures ...san katutak.
It's also note worthy that FORD USA is now offering the Focus in their ttraditional non DCT matic trannies.... thats saying something right?
meron kang ECO sir?
Sa friend ko wala naman daw problem yung sa kanya regarding DCT... yung brakes nya lang medyo maingay pagnababasa.
As per our survey at FCP, most Fiestas impacted by TCM failure of its DCT are the 1.6L Sport models manufactured from 2011-2012. The newer Fiestas (1.5L NA and 1.0L Ecoboost models with the Aston Martin grill) have the updated TCM. My Fiesta Ecoboost is more than a year now as a daily driver and it is such a joy to drive. The quickness of the DCT coupled with the high torque at low rpm of the turbo engine brings out quite a zippy drive compared to most other subcompacts.
On the new Focus 1.5L Ecoboost, they are replacing the tranny with the 6-speed AT similar to what is used in the Fusion and Escape. The dry-type DCT is not meant for torque values higher than 200Nm. As per reports for the ASEAN market, Ford is discarding the 2.0L NA engine in favor of the 1.5L Ecoboost while keeping the 1.6L NA engine (with DCT) for the lower trim Focus models. In Europe, the 1.6L NA engine has already been replaced by the 1.0L Ecoboost engine for the base model Focus.
both are non facelifted Fiesta's. If the DCT isnt meant for more than 200 n-m torque, the it shows how flimsy it is. With the 1.0 Ecoboost fiesta coming in at 170 n-m, that's cutting it close , imagine the strain if you use it flat out all the time, Still its a good move to remove the DCT from the focus...
* Clavel,
I dont own one, but I sometimes do driver duties to an uncle... I also had a lot of driving time in a Fiesta DCT.
200Nm is a lot of torque for small displacement engines. Most 2.0L NA engines are rated at about that value. The current generation Focus with its 2.0L engine produces 200Nm at 4000rpm and also uses the Powershift DCT.
Ford's 1.0L Ecoboost engine is rated at 170Nm from 1500 to 4500 rpm but reaches 200Nm when overboost kicks in when the engine reaches 5000 rpm.
sa mga may ecosport dyan magkano nakuha nyong discount sa dealer nyo?
Hi tanung ko Lang what's top safest speed if you drive this trend AT sa NLEX? Yun hindi naman parang ma out of control na, yun tama lang pero mabilis
As long as you have good traction and still feels stable, then go for it. Also, better watch out for those radar-guns from parked silver Innovas, Rangers, or Hilux and you will surely be ticketed for speeding.
The EcoSport doesn't have nearly enough power to go fast enough to feel unstable on the NLEX.
It maxes out at a measly 175 km/h. (found this out at an official Ford event held at the Subic runway... where the Mustangs were hitting 250 km/h)
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
