Maybe he means accidental opening of doors or childlock proof.

you can always open the doors via interior handles, even if locked. That is why to test if a door is locked, use the outside handles. Except if you enable child safety lock for the rear door, you can only open the rear doors via outside handles and when unlocked.

Have tried what it says in the manual about enabling the automatic door unlocking,(pressed 3 times), but to no avail, o baka mali na naman procedure ko??? any idea again?
    re: automatic door unlocking
you have two options, option 1. Pressing remote key unlock botton once will unlock the driver door only, leaving the other doors lock. Press unlock botton twice (i think within 3 sec) will unlock all doors. Option 2. Pressing the remote key unlock botton once will unlock all doors at once.

Same as fiesta. For safety daw wala lock button for all doors in case of accident madali cya open.

Mercedes benz has used a system like this since the 60's. Now other manufacturers are following suit,

Ganun ba, the auto lock and unlock function pala sa sasakyan na ito ay para lang sa outside, not from inside.Sa suv ko kasi, if auto lock or (locked) hindi mo rin mabuksan pinto sa mga passenger from inside by just pulling the interior handle, either you unlock centrally thru the drivers door button or thru individual toggle switch forming part of the interior door opening handle.

    Hello again guys!

Which Ford branch can you guys recommend me for test drives ng Ranger MT/AT? I wanna test drive it in real road conditions like for example our crappy cement highway EDSA and the like. I want to compare the ride to my shaky Hilux. If it is significantly better I might really get the Ford na if not i might go for an SUV for real comfort driving + FC .

FC input of the 4x2 AT in pure city driving compared to the MT would be greatly appreciated.

Mukhang matatagalan pa dating ng unit (A/T) namin. They are only accepting cash payment for the M/T version. Most SA's I talked to said that there is a shipment coming this 2nd week of December and all of the units are already reserved.

is there a way to have a secure compartment type thing to install on the bed of the Ranger? Usong uso kasi basag kotse now and there are times you cannot avoid leaving valuables inside the vehicle. I guess these thieves caught on the fact na kapag binasag lang windows, that wont trigger the alarm. What I normally do is place valuables in the trunk so that its not visible from the outside, plus opening the trunk would trigger an alam but in this case wala trunk ang Ranger. Im not a big fan of having a camper shell though...

    any thoughts guys?

AFAIK, a roller lid or hard tonneau are lockable. And there are some pick-up bed managers that will allow you to use up only the easily accessible portion to put your gear/valuables so they do not scatter all over the bed when you're in motion. Try inquiring with Ride and Carryboy.

I'm in the process of placing an order for a Ranger. While I'm waiting for the paperwork to be done, I did some research on tonneau covers. I particularly like TopUp (Welcome to TopUp Truck Cover Co.,Ltd. :: Catalogue_Toyota ::), but none of the local shops seem to carry the model that would fit the Ranger. So I looked for an alternative and saw the Aeroklas brand (Aeroklas The best in Automobile Accessories Truck accessories Tonneau Covers and Canopy.). Does anyone here have experience with said brand? I found out from a website that Winterpine is the official distributor of Aeroklas in the country. I searched for contact details and was able to get in touch with someone from Winterpine. He said that they can order Aeroklas Deck Covers for the Ford Ranger from their supplier and it would take 60 days to ship the accessory. Said Deck Covers come with either Electronic Lift-up System or the Manual Lift-up System. Seriously considering this, unless I find another TopUp-like brand that's also competitively priced...and can be installed without the 60-day waiting period. I've asked the person if I can share his number and he gave the green light. So if you're interested, hit me up with a PM and I'll send you his name and contact details via PM as well. Baka make-discount pa kung group buy. ;)

I'm also interested in other TopUp products called the Tail Gate Lift and the Bonnet Gas Strut (Welcome to TopUp Truck Cover Co.,Ltd. :: Other products ::). Has anyone seen these products (or alternative brands of the same) in the market? Paki-tip naman po kung saan.

    below is how my unit behave;

if initially naka central locked lahat ng door, may ilaw yung 'locked' icon sa dash board, when you open your door (driver's), mawawala yung ilaw ng 'lock' icon, pero naka-lock parin yung other doors, you cannot open the rear passenger doors using the outside handles, i guess pati yung door sa front passenger.
so ang ibig sabihin lang ng naka ilaw yung 'lock' icon sa akin is lahat ng doors ay naka-lock. i think this is optional via the auto unlocking options.

After a week of driving the 2.2 MT ranger here's my input. I drove the ranger 700km in 2 days and based on this, I now find the ranger's performance.
    1. The clutch is a bit stiff, and would only act somewhere around the middle of its travel. More often, I have a jerking 1st gear due to this otherwise, engine will die. Proper and precise foot control is needed.
    2. I find the torque is set high on the power band, around 1800 rpm.Medyo short sa 2nd gear minsan, you need the 1st gear. The 2nd gear also lacks the oomph for overtaking on an uphill, especially when you are following behind some lorries, shifting to 3rd gear will just slow you down and labouring the engine. Other than this, the engine is very powerful and responsive, I managed 160kph. Have an fc of 8.6km/100L of 700km of 70%highway and 30% urban.
    3. Also the transmission, I find that you need to make an effort to push the shifter a bit harder and can't do quickshifting,
    4. Riding comfort for me, the ranger is also shaky. I dont know other pick ups on the market as I havent tried them. My other vehicle is a suv.
    5. The aircon, I dont know, kung ang sikat ng araw ay sa harap mo, naka full na thermostat, alanganin pa rin, pero naman kung sa likuran na ang araw( away from the dash) ay sobra naman lamig, kahit sagad na sa minimum ang thermostat, mag foggy na nga salamin sa labas.
    6. The brakes are very powerful on this vehicle.

Went to ford cdo, they have 2 units of 4x4 manual ranger 2.2. Walang bedliner at stepboard and no voice control, steering wheel audio/cruise controls. Yung gulong nya ay 16 in. at yung grill ay black plastic, hindi chrome. They said it is designed for company fleet/mining industry, pero sold out pa rin.

There is a note in the procedure which says YOU HAVE TO FINISH THE ENTIRE PROCEDURE WITHIN 30 SECONDS. Or else it will automatically invalidate or reset yung mga na input mo..

Much better sir kung dalawa kayo para yung isa will read the whole instruction..

On page 31. It is mentioning about driver configuration mode to activate this feature. This will be done in a period of 30 secs.!!!
    1. Ignition off to on then press lock/unlock button 3 times within 3 secs. then 2. Ignition on to off (horn will sound, short beep)then press again lock/unlock button 3 times withis 3 secs. and then lastly 3. ignition off to on again. ( horn will sound 2 short beeps) and that's it!
