I just happen to know..
Well to continue my experience with our new ranger, Had my first PMS last Dec 6. Informed the casa all of my concerns and waited for about an hour. Resolved most of my concerns except for the two major "problem":
1. I mentioned this on the previous pages which is the weird sound underneath the car whenever the auto tranny is in shifting transition from 2nd gear to 3rd gear.
--we did a test drive together with the SA and a technical staff. The technician was the one driving. UNFORTUNATELY THE SYMPTOM DIDN'T SHOW UP. As what i mentioned previously here i also relayed to them that the sound doesn't happen all the time, but it still happens 3 to 4 times everyday.
--both the technician and the SA advised me to do more observation and for them to be able to do a more thorough check, they told me to make arrangements with the management na kung pwede iwan ko daw ang unit for at least overnight.. I told them pag-isipan ko muna coz i live 90 kms away from the casa.
--according to them, this is the first report they encountered on this specific "problem". Many of the units that had been released are manual trannies..
-- i still experience the sound everyday especially if the vehicle came from a long rest. IF THE SOUND IS JUST PART OF THE NORMAL OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE, WHY DOESN'T HAPPEN ALL THE TIME?
2. The
low fuel level warning lamp, the
fuel gauge, and the
"distance to empty" information DOES NOT UPDATE IMMEDIATELY after i refill at the gas station ESPECIALLY IF THE ENGINE REMAINS ON and RUNNING. Sometimes it takes more than an hour and sometimes ayaw talaga mag update and you need to turn off the engine, wait for about a minute, and turn back on bago mawala yung low fuel warning at aakyat yung fuel needle gauge.
--Ford SA told me they performed a kind of diagnostic test or simply they ran their laptop on the vehicle's onboard computer and found no problem. Based on their experience kuno, pinakamatagal mag update ng fuel level ang ford focus or escape yata yun which is around 5 mins daw.
--They advised me of further observation and inform them of any changes..
Ok so tumawag ang Customer Care nila kanina for feedback sa PMS. I told her the weird sound is still there. And the fuel indicators failing to update IS GETTING WORSE.
--My sister used the car last Saturday Dec 8th at naabutan sya sa first warning ng low fuel (80 kms to empty). Diretso sya sa Shell Station and refilled 500 pesos (*Php44.90 so it's around 11.13 liters). Enough na sana to at least mkaakyat man lang ang fuel needle gauge kahit konti or the distance to empty would improve to around "180kms to empty." UNFORTUNATELY WALANG NAGYARI. Patuloy ang warning sound, warning lamp, and the fuel needle is nearing the red line. Same day and an hour after, hiniram ng brother ko at walang update pa rin sa fuel. Sunday came and they attend church service, the annoying fuel warning sound is there.. the distance to empty keeps on reducing.. Today Dec 10th is the third day na and i'm the one using the car the whole day. I ignored the fuel warning, i want to test what will really happen kasi impossible naman na walang lumabas na diesel sa fuel pumps ng shell last saturday? Kanina lunch time umabot na sa "50kms to empty". My mom is now starting to suspect baka hindi talaga nalagyan ng crudo nakaligtaan lang or may hokus pokus sa station. Kanina after work i was about to give up and thought of just going to the gas station and refill. While getting the ledgers sa tindahan namin, lo and behold! BIGLANG NAG OFF ANG LOW FUEL WARNING LAMP, UMAKYAT ANG FUEL NEEDLE GAUGE, AND THE DISTANCE TO EMPTY WENT UP TO "118kms TO EMPTY"! NAG UPDATE SYA AFTER 3 DAYS!
Is this normal?
