    1. The clutch is a bit stiff, and would only act somewhere around the middle of its travel. More often, I have a jerking 1st gear due to this otherwise, engine will die. Proper and precise foot control is needed.
    2. I find the torque is set high on the power band, around 1800 rpm.Medyo short sa 2nd gear minsan, you need the 1st gear. The 2nd gear also lacks the oomph for overtaking on an uphill, especially when you are following behind some lorries, shifting to 3rd gear will just slow you down and labouring the engine. Other than this, the engine is very powerful and responsive, I managed 160kph. Have an fc of 8.6km/100L of 700km of 70%highway and 30% urban.
    3. Also the transmission, I find that you need to make an effort to push the shifter a bit harder and can't do quickshifting,
    4. Riding comfort for me, the ranger is also shaky. I dont know other pick ups on the market as I havent tried them. My other vehicle is a suv.
    5. The aircon, I dont know, kung ang sikat ng araw ay sa harap mo, naka full na thermostat, alanganin pa rin, pero naman kung sa likuran na ang araw( away from the dash) ay sobra naman lamig, kahit sagad na sa minimum ang thermostat, mag foggy na nga salamin sa labas.
    6. The brakes are very powerful on this vehicle.

Went to ford cdo, they have 2 units of 4x4 manual ranger 2.2. Walang bedliner at stepboard and no voice control, steering wheel audio/cruise controls. Yung gulong nya ay 16 in. at yung grill ay black plastic, hindi chrome. They said it is designed for company fleet/mining industry, pero sold out pa rin.
700 kms is like the distance from Zamboanga City to Butuan City?

I talked to a technical guy at Ford yesterday. I asked him why many MT owners have trouble with shifting and often experience engine stalling. He revealed that Ford Ranger 2012 went back to SINGLE MASS FLYWHEEL system. Yung mga lumang ranger had the Dual Mass system. suggestion ng technical is to get used to it.. I search online and found out there is a conversion kit to solve the issue:

Clutchpro Single Mass Flywheel Conversion Kit for Mazda BT50 & Ford Ranger - The ClutchPro product range

The new Ranger as well as any other pickup is not really built for comfort, especially pag dumaan ka CDO-Iligan highway.
That is understandable especially if you're coming from an SUV. Heck my 10 year old Trooper is still more comfortable than my new ranger..
Pero IMHO, i tested the new 2.5 Hilux, Chevy Colorado, and 2012 Strada and i would say halos parehos ang Strada at Ranger on the top in terms of comfort..

My friend's Ranger arrived the other day, and he was showing it to me yesterday. The stock 265/65r17s looked pretty beefy on their own, but when you look at them against the entire Ranger body and the wheelwell, you can't help but say na parang maliit or may kulang. At least for me.

Did some number crunching for him, and apparently upgrading to 265/70r17s and 17" Black Rhinos will cost him about as much or within P5K-P10K as getting a 20" wheel and tire set. Interesting. Gotta see for myself though, what specific wheel and tire combo that would be.

On the flipside, for the other end of the spectrum -- the lower priced end, which combo do you think would work to make those shoes a bit less puny and enhance the butch stance of the Ranger:
    1) Keep the stock tires, but get 9" Black Rhinos so that they stick out of the wheelwell a bit more stretching the tires a bit.
    2) Keep the stock rims, but trade in the stock tires for taller 265/70r17s, either Nexens or Coopers, maybe ATs. And possibly get spacers for the rear wheels so they stick out a bit more as well.

I'm still trying to convince him to get a beefy 20" set para macho pa din, but he seems more set on 17s. Since he doesn't plan on going full-on at this point with the entire set, the better piece meal basis might just be enough to calm him down. Any suggestions?

mukang madaming stock ngayun ang Ranger ah. Tumawag pa ahente ko na gusto may DI at in house financing kanina and he told me na ngayun daw wala na at pwede na cash purchase.

Haaayyy dahil sa marketing strategy nila i opted for toyota hilux tuloy.

This is the config I want. I saw a white version of this in QC. Did they say how much it was?

Yes, that's right. There are some technical issues with the dual mass flywheel on the previous ranger. One of the technical staff I also talked said mostly, they replaced the flywheel at 100k km as it is so prone to damaged., and this can cost the owner almost 100k pesos.
Yesterday on my way back, have tried to keep pace with the chevy colorado 2.8, but I failed, hehehe. Ang bilis ng arangkada ng chevy, naiiwan ako, so I quit! only to caught up with him negotiating behind lorries and the one lane road repair in CDO-Iligan road.

Also one thing, the central window controls on the ranger is placed not in a very comfortable place. You have to really position your hand rearward to reach it, as it seats somewhere below your wrist. Sana finorward nila ng konti para madali at convenient.

The oil they are using for our ranger is the CASTROL Magnatec Professional A5 SAE 5W-30.

BTH RANGER 4X4 2.2 manual is 1.179 pesos.

You don't want a dual mass.

100k is a bit much. A dual mass flywheel costs between 30-50k. But yeah, it's a pain-in-the-ass to replace. There is the possibility of rebuilding it, but better to just do without.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Are there no after market suspension kits that would greatly increase ride comfort for our cement roads? I do not plan on putting heavy equipment ont he back just light but big stuff. Has anyone changed the stock yet? Thanks

I chanced upon this product called the Sport-Rite Air Bag Kit for 2010-11 Ford Ranger (4X4 & 4X2) by Firestone. I do not know if local owners of the previous generation Ranger have tried this. It is said to "enhance the ride while empty or loaded." Here's the website: [2531 Firestone Sport-Rite- REAR KIT 2010-11 Ford Ranger (4X4)(4X2) - See Description] It's not far-fetched that one may also be produced for the new Ranger.

I want to compare the ride to my shaky Hilux. If it is significantly better I might really get the Ford na if not i might go for an SUV for real comfort driving + FC .

FC input of the 4x2 AT in pure city driving compared to the MT would be greatly appreciated.
My Feedback on ranger ride, sa front comfortable. But rear passengers commented bumpy ride. Maybe due to my tire inflation at 38psi. Dapat lower Kung no load. Hope others can comment sa ride especially sa rear.

How about getting innova? I know it has comfortable ride. I just find the design kinda plain.

The Innova? No thanks ;) I really dig the trucks especially the ranger because it is like a 3 in 1 vehicle. A sedan, van and suv! Haha and the macho look. Thanks! Will go for after market suspensions

2, Dapat po ba close all doors when doing the procedure?
3, yun pressing lock/unlock button sir. 3x lock then 3x din unlock button po or either of the button lang press 3x?
4, after driver configuration mode, does it automatically goes into autolock by speed or i need to do it separate procedure?

ANS. You don't need to start engine, only ignition on yung pangalawang click ng key. Iilaw lahat nasa instrument panel.

2, Dapat po ba close all doors when doing the procedure?

ANS It doesnt matter if you close or not,

3, yun pressing lock/unlock button sir. 3x lock then 3x din unlock button po or either of the button lang press 3x?

ANS. No. Pressing 3 times means, as in 3 times lang talaga hindi 6 times (3 sets of lock/unlock) don't be confused.

4, after driver configuration mode, does it automatically goes into autolock by speed or i need to do it separate procedure?

ANS You don't need another procedure when you have done setting this up in 30 seconds time. You can turn off the key and leave it or if you wish, you can try starting it and drive to see if it works.

That's for the US Ranger, which is a completely different truck. It may or may not fit, or may need some modification to fit, depending on the shape of the frame rail on the global Ranger.

Thanks for the info sir teeyoh.
