Still not possible. LTO will issue plates at random as we speak.

I have no angst against agents like you. I appreciate the honesty and relative transparency.
However, as I've said previously, I frown upon the current status quo of scarce allocation leading to overpricing. It reeks of insufficient support on a global level and company morality on a local level.

did i read it right na bank ang nagpauso ng DI? If yes how come di priority ang cash buyer? di ba wala na involvement ang bangko pag cash?

Banks have always given dealers a 0.6-0.8% as incentive or "commission". If a product is in demand then it goes up to 1-2%. Some cash buyers with money to burn who wanted to get ahead in line then started to shoulder or give the D.I. themselves. Eventually, dealers and agents noticed this and now it has become a common practice. Now, you may complain to high heavens about this but that's just how it is. This is not just in vehicle sales, other industries also do this.

Still super torn between a white Montero Sport GLX M/T vs a white/black Ford Ranger XLT M/T. I reserved for both, ready for release next week!!! Will be using this for city driving basically. Single, late 20s, corporate. My worry about the Ranger is that baka mabilis ako magsawa sa pick-up since it's more stressful to drive than the Montero.
But the Ranger is ooh-la-la when it comes to looks and road presence.
Please convince me guys. Haha! If I choose this I just hope the all-new Montero arrives next year. :p
Montero na lang.
Bad points ng ranger - big turning radius, hirap sa u-turn and tight parking. Mahaba, so mas mahirap i-park. Mabigat ang steering, sakit sa katawan kung daily drive.
Agree with the turning radius and all its sub-problems.
However, hindi naman siya masakit sa katawan idrive araw araw. Whether in traffic or in long drives, I actually find the Ranger to be comfortable for the driver. Maganda upuan eh.
Overall, the Ranger still looks better than the Montero. Also has better handling, steering, and brakes. More power overall too.
It's not as practical as a Montero, but you don't need practical naman right now.

Well i have its twin the bt50. Between the bt50 and my sorento and gs i will pick the sorento and gs as a daily drive over the bt50. And the bt50 has a smaller turning radius than the ranger (12.4 vs 12.7 meters). Don't get me wrong, i like the bt50 and the ranger, too. But as a daily driver in the metro, there are other vehicles out there that are more practical and easier and more comfortable to drive than a pick up. The question cokyi will have to answer is does he really need a pick up? Meron ba siya ikakarga sa likod, e sa corporate naman siya. Ano ikakarga nya sa likod, paper clip? Single, late 20s, corporate. Better pa yata kung sedan. Or crossover. The montero suits him better than a pick up.
Now if he is buying a pick up just for pogi points, di ba siya pogi at need pa ng ranger para ma-like?e di itodo mo na, buy a bmw x5 na lang.
Nothing wrong with buying a pick-up if youre not going to use it to haul stuff. Lifestyle trucks naman purpose nun for most consumers, dahil macho nga. Look at the strada ang liit ng bed, karamihan ng makikita mo sa kalsada pormado with 20s. Same goes with the other pick-ups. A sedan might suit him better, but you go with what your heart desireseither way, good luck sa purchase cokyi! Mukhang hirap ka matulog recently haha
same here sir. i agree mas malaki ang turning radius ng ranger at mas mahaba sa fortuner ko.. nakailan atras abante ako para ma ipark ko sa garage ko..pero yung power and torque ng makina is amazing for a diesel fed engine. cruising in 100kph pero para walang kahirap hirap. I need to say this.. pero good buy talaga ako sa ford ranger. buti na lang naghintay ako. muntik na ko mapabili ng hilux.
Actually, I think it's pretty cozy inside the Ranger, too. It's just that the Montero is cozier and easier to drive. One factor I'm also considering is that I will most probably sell this car after 4 years, and be forced to get a daddy-car by default. Haha!
Actually the story behind the Ranger is that I need a bigger car. My current 2011 Jazz is the first brand new car I bought and with my size (I'm 6'0), and the flooding problem in our village, I think I'm due for an upgrade to a bigger car. I don't have any use for the truck bed and for the 7 seats of the Montero, it's just that I need a bigger car.
The thought process behind it went like this - I was initially looking around for a second hand 2010/2011 Fortuner/Montero which I can pay in cash without hurting my wallet. I then found out that the huge and gorgeous Ford Ranger was only barely 1.1M and will fit my budget. I was ready to get it. But lo and behold, I found out that the Monteros are currently being offered at a huge discount which was basically only around 40k more than the Ranger. Instinct then was to get the Montero, and immediately reserved for one.
On the way home from Mitsubishi, I passed by a Ford casa just for kicks. I test drove both on the same day, and I fell in love with the heft of the Ranger, as well as the comfort and easy maneuverability of the Montero.
So now, I am reserved for BOTH. Haha! Talk about fickle-mindedness. Eitherway I'm pretty sure I'm getting my money's worth since both are good cars. And I'm pretty sure I will be kicking myself in the head when I pick one over the other. Haha.
No to sedans for me since baka bahain rin since I'm coming from a Jazz. Hehe. Tell me about it, I slept around 3am last night just researching online, even if I had to wake up at 7. Haha! Thanks!! It's a good problem to have, I guess.![]()
