Sir, yes its possible to accommodate another 2 to 3 inches longer filter as the engine bay (dmax) for the oil filter has lots of space. Am also sourcing out longer filters out there..
You would be wasting money if your not doing at least 12000klm, That's just a 8000 mile oil change interval, not exactly pushing the limits.

You should look into the LF3487, It's full microglass and would give you a easy 15000klm between oil changes not to mention is 73% efficient at 10 microns. Or you can stick with the Luberfiner and get the PH8A going to a bigger filter extends oil change intervals as well.

CH4 oil is killer oil, we wish we could still find the stuff, I has a ton of ZDDP in it. It was the bench mark when it came out, Oils have gone down hill since then due to emission requirements and low sulfur diesel fuels.

Here is a nice little oil study to show you how well it works. CH4 oil was designed for extended drain intervals as well the later API rated oils for diesel. It's all about the TBN.

Guys this should generally be your rule of thumb when choosing the oil you need so that you get the most protection!!!

**Amount of Sulfur in Philippine Diesel fuel >500PPM?
**Is vehicle equipped with Diesel particulate filter?

----if sulfur level in fuel is greater than >500PPM choose CI-4
----if sulfur level in fuel is less than <50PPM choose CJ-4

----if vehicle is equipped with Diesel particulate filter use CJ-4
----if vehicle is not equipped with Diesel particulate filter use CI-4

The main reason why CJ-4 is created is because in other countries
Sulfur levels in the fuel have been reduced(advancement in diesel fuel)
And prolong life of particulate filters and catalytic converters

The TBN ( total base number/ ability to neutralize the acids formed primarily because of high sulfur levels in fuel) is lowered
the CJ-4 oils have lower phosphorus and other anti-wear additives generally termed as ASH...
The lower TBN of CJ-4 oils is due to the fact that the fuel has low sulfur and doesn't not need that much acid combating power

The TBN of CI-4 oils are usually high (10-12) because the fuel that is expected to be used is high in Sulfur.. therefore it contains lots of anti-wear like phosphorus and others to combat the sulfur acid effect....

As with our current sulfur levels in our diesel fuel CI-4 oils would be a better option...
ONCE it has been legalized and less than 50PPm of sulfur is enacted then CJ-4 would be option,,,,
(Am i correct DOc as to what i stated hehe,)

Your pretty spot on, all of those will have a high TBN of at least 10 and a proper level of ZDDP and a pretty high and will give you good protection.

If you pick a oil try to pull their spec sheet, we have posted dozens and dozens of them on here to help you make your choice or just do a google search.

Delo gold is a example of a oil that will serve you very well the TBN is 9.5 more than enough for a 12000km oil change interval.

It also has 1500ppm zinc in it so that serious friction protection.

That is very informative sir. Nagulat nga ako sa description ng CJ-4 na dapat ay below 50ppm lang. Now, how about ung mga previous versions of API ratings like CH-4, CF-4 and CF? which is still available and common to our market.

how about CI-4 plus vs. CJ-4? i've read somewhere (some pdf file on the net) that CI-4 was tested (manufactured) under time constraints and so so thus the CI-4 plus.

All are good oils, unless your doing extended drain intervals and your using at least CH-4, CI-4, CI-4 plus, CJ-4 oils you will be fine, Though old school diesels should not really use CJ-4 oils many are below the 1200ppm for ZDDP.

    Always check the spec sheet.

I made some comparison of diesel oils popular here. HTH in your quest of the ideal oil for you. Prices are based here in my place so it will vary.

Some are also made to order like Gulf oils na direct sa national distributor and per case dapat order. Cheap per liter but expensive as a whole.

I guess you can't get the Fleetforce 10w40 over the counter? Who sells it.

hehe, miko sell it per liter, that is the cheaper option than buying in bulk. It is really for fleet options. I don't think its over the counter stuff.

most diesels engines in the street still needs lots of ZDDP...... although there are some improvements in the Philippines with regard to diesel technology still the same engines are used... plus the sulfur levels in the fuel are still high... If you adhere to emission standards but it makes your engine less efficient over time and more prone to breakdowns what's the logic of having emissions only to scrap your engine in less than 10 years....

any CI-4 oils will really be good, basta paired with good filters!! and no extended drain intervals on city driving conditions......

Tsaka ilan ml of oil ba ang kelangan isubmit for testing?

    TIA
