Appreciate much your inputs Doc. Had checked my friend's Montero Sports and it all used the Denso 186100-6080 fuel filter as well. Actually checked my colleague's rigs as well and all uses the same type of fuel filter. Even some well known auto parts stores also gives out the Denso type when asking which one is fitted for the MS.

Don Cross of Baldwin also confirmed that the BF7535 is the cross for the Denso 186100-6080. Tried to check the thread pattern and it really seems that the BF7534 would fit also as the BF7535 3/4-16 thread is only 0.068" smaller than the M20-1.5 thread of the BF7534. It will only boil down to the the maximum pressure the fitting can withstand.

Sadly, will need to wait until mid-January to get this all tested. No more stocks from Volmax for both.

seems like there was somekind of buying frenzy that hit volmax....

called them a month(mid october) before I got my fuel filter to confirm availability, told me it was abundant then suddenly now its out of stock...

BTW here's another proof that the fleetguard I got was a Knock off!

heres the fake one when it was still new with its box

here's an original one, I got this pic from EBAY its being sold for 24$

if you look at it closely even the size was quite different...the fake being the bigger and the smaller one is the original...

and notice the markings on the filters? BALIKTAD!!! hahaha! I do hope you understand the word doc

    You'd be the judge!

and the boxes, hehehe the knock off was too nice! and the original was simple but it has the MADE in USA text that made all the difference

There is a size difference because what I pointed out a few post back, that is not a dual element filter it should be a full flow and have just one filter element in it. The fake also appears to be fluted which the original is not.

Shame on those who sell fake Fleetguard filters clear your bad stock and replace it with filters from the manufacture your supposed to be the official dealer for.

Fleetguard has now updated there site to put new images of their filters that are in adobe flash and you can rotate them 360 degrees and see every angle and side of the filter they did it to make fakes easier to spot.

Cummins Filtration - Catalog - Catalog Map just enter your filter number and take a peak.

Yeah Volmax is selling the Baldwins left and right, at least more people know about getting good filters hoped they ordered enough on there next shipment to keep up with demand.

the BF7534 is a good fit to the 4m41 according to KCboy

and I can attest to that...

My question now is that do fuel filters differ from oil filters when it comes to fitment?

meaning, as long as it bites the thread well, were good to go? or it does not apply the same principle?

so even though if it fits well as long as its not the same as the one in the cross reference sheet indicating that it does not have the same bite as the OEM, its not good and leaks are imminent?

because I already traveled about 400kms with it and so far I didn't experience anything unnecessary....and its all good...

I just wanted to have your approval on this... thanks doc!

i've travelled 1600kms already since i changed to the baldwin fuel filter last august 2011, i didnt notice any difference,
i also added 2t whenever i refuel. you should be ok.....kung may masisisra, baka maunahan na kita.

I just had a minor glitch on it...because the mechanic was a bit hesitant on pressing on it a bit to reach the thread....but with a little force voila! a perfect fit....

and with this flowing on it....

and with that, the RIG is kicking like a young stallion again...=)

4M40, 4M41 AND 4D56 guys can also use the BD7028 if they are out of stock of the BD28 the main difference is it's just a little bit longer and a little bit bigger in diameter but fits perfect.
