guys please read this website .. its in PDF file... you'll learn a lot regarding the CORRECT API classification you should use... and why there is a need to understand whats in the oils...
after you read it please give your insight...
I have to agree plus the Caltex Delo 400 seems to be a real winner. Sayang wala dito but the Mobil Delvac MX and Delo Gold Ultra are great Group II mineral oil. I still say Top1 SDO is the better group III semi-syn.Availability is good as well as price.

Nice read guys!
I've been recently handed the maintenance of the family's vios with a mileage of 120k kms.. Grabe pagbukas pa lang ng oil cap kita na yung varnishing with a little sludge. Changed oil last week (FYI Castrol GTX with VIC) and used Seafoam (crank case, vacuum, and fuel) after the change oil. Seafoam recommends to change oil when the oil gets dirty but after 80kms of running oil is still clean!
I'll be trying the Mag1 All Fleet 15w-40 plus BT223 combo as I read good things about the two and would like to conduct an oil test for everyone's benefit.
* Doc, would the the existence of residual Seafoam in the crankcase affect the results?
I would suggest you try autorx cleaner.....coupled with a good semi-synthetic oil, with good detergency........
After 120+ kms oil is still clean. The 40+ kms was due to going to Volmax. Got 3 Baldwin BT 223 to try out hehe. I was gonna buy just one but after the traffic, endless looking for parking space, and kilometers that I walked just to go back to Volmax, 3 sounded reasonable (since that was the most that I could buy with the money that I brought haha) I am impressed with the filters. Solid build and weight is confidence-inspiring. 10,000kms+ OCI here I come!! Will try to take a picture beside a VIC filter hehe
*miko: I'll keep that in mind sir. I'm gonna test the effectivity of Seafoam first. I'm taking the varnishing/sludge problem as an opportunity to try new products albeit cautiously![]()
Didn't not know it was such a hassle to get there, no wonder people hoard, BT223 is as solid of a little fitter as you can get.
If Google Maps is not pulling my leg I can leave the missus at 168 and hike to Volmax. I'll still be hoarding the filters though. The family has 3 Toyota 4-cyls of varying vintages. And I'll make sure to call ahead if they have some in stock :D
pasabit lang o.. pwede paki PM nalang where i could buy yang mga brands ng filter na sinasabi nyo.. or make a thread compiling them.. para sa 1st 10,000 ng carens ko yang oil filter na yan lalagay ko.
