I posted on it back several pages ago, But it's one of the better oils out there, It's only Group II but it has a high TBN, and Zinc around 1500ppm (very high) so it gives excellent protection. This oil is for Fleet service so it will run 12000klm to 15000kml without to much problems with a good filter.
Saan po location ng Cash and Carry, sir? I seldom go down Manila and if I do usually balikan ang lakad ko.
Wow! Mobil 1 Delvac's Calcium level is way below the Universal Average of 2365.
Got this data from the Internet (I forgot which site). This data may be for the Valvoline Premium Blue 5w/40 which is a few pesos cheaper than the Mobil 1 Delvac 5w/40 available at Ace hardware SM Baguio:
Valvoline Premium Blue TBN 11.6
Calcium 3964
Magnesium 14
Phosphorous 1468
Zinc 1541
Boron 148
Molybdenum 112
I will definitely switch to Valvoline on my next oil change. Thanks for the reply, Doc.

I got that from a Virgin oil sample from Blackstone. The results will vary a bit depending on what lab does the test.
It's this one here. might be different than the one they sell there.

But it looks like the formulation has changed since last year, They have two different specs one from last year and one for this year. This is due to the API rating. And as you can see the CI-4 is superior it's TBN is 12 while the newer CJ-4 is only 10. Damm EPA!!!
http://www.valvoline.com/pdf/premium_blue.pdf (CJ-4) (The phosphorus will be limited to no greater than 1200ppm)
http://www.valvoline.com/pdf/premium_blue_classic.pdf (CI-4) (no phosphorus limit)
Fortunately you guys can't get get good stuff all day long.
I would not use the Delvac 1, on a JDM diesel , It simply cannot keep your engine as clean.

hndi ko na maalala sir ry_tower... check ko mamaya email inbox ko para mabigay ko sayo.. haha... by the way umorder ako 5 box nang mobil delvac 15w40 if anyone is interested.... nakaka hilo na... puro engine oils nasa utak koh...
I think the ones being sold here are still CI-4 rated. Noted that Mobil 1 Delvac is not suited for our Japanese engines. It has always been my thought that since it is an expensive oil and that it is manufactured by one of the leading diesel engine oil makers then it should outperform and exceed manufacturer's engine requirements. I've been using Mobil 1 Delvac for 3 years now. Maybe that's why I observed that in just a matter of days after changing oil when I check the dipstick the oil is already black.
Hoping I can get hold of the Fleetguard or Baldwin filter before I do my oil change. If not then I will still use the OEM filter and will open up the old one to see how the OEM filter performed.
At the bottom of the PDF file it says "This information only applies to products manufactured in the following location(s) – Singapore". Hoping that the Valvoline oils being sold locally has the same US specs.
I'll soon take of photo of the Valvoline oil that's available here and post it in this thread.

It's not that it's not good oil, it's not designed for older diesels. It's for newer common rail diesel engines running on ULSD and have particulate filters. Now Delvac 1300 Super that's a different story.
The oil analysis I posted of it is from the US made version. formulation should not really vary, since they have formulation for the varying API ratings they go by.

CI-4 Plus licensed lubricants are required to deliver improved soot handling and shear stability performance in all engines. These improvements enable engine oils licensed under the API CI-4 Plus specification to better withstand the severity of the latest low-emission engines.
the local delvac mx 15w40 has a tbn of 12...
No not Bentley. Shackles and tow strap I get from Bentley.
I got the 3.5 or 4 ton crocodile jack and 6 ton jack stands from Pemar Trading - a couple of stores after Volmax. Got the crocodile jack for P4k and the jack stands for P700-750/pc. Excellent quality. Kayang kaya even my LC 80 na mas mabigat.
Good to know that because both my Strada and Sorento are CRDI engines. Never knew that there are better oils out there that are cheaper but still can outperform expensive oils if not for this thread that you authored. Thinking of doing a remote bypass oil filtration to my Strada and will be one of my future DIY mods.
And it's far cheaper than the Delvac 5w/40 that has a TBN of 10...
The Valvoline i got from a distributor based in Iloilo and has a branch here has that Valvoline Blue FS P650 bentahan/ltr, CJ-rated na. Singapore daw galing stocks nila. hmmmm
*Miko: the TBN of 12 for mobil Delvac MX is for US production. Singapore Mobil delvac MX has a TBN of 10 as per my data. Where did you get the 12 TBN mSDS delvac MX?

Ry_tower, kung gusto mu try mu nga yung Gulf fleetforce synth, its TBN is 15.... fully synthetic diesel..
Who sells this Gulf Fleetforce oil. Any gas stations? or just a distributer?
